Out of America's small towns marches as living and breathing a
story of real people as Hollywood lias ever produced. Bob Burns in his
first starring role for Paramount studio3 has thrown away his bazooka
and revealed himself as one of the country's great humorists in "The
Arkansas Traveler". Cast as an itinerant printer, Bob Burns takes the
protector's role with capable Fay Bainter as the widow of the news-
paper editor. Together these two favorites make "The Arkansas
Traveler" a simple, homely, kindly picture on movie-goer will sooa
forget.

Under a recent ruling by the At-
torney General, no taxpayer can pay
the taxes on his real estate or per-
sonal property unless he pays the
poll taxes at the same time. It has
been the custom heretofore in this
county not to require the payment of
poll taxes, but hereafter please be
prepared to pay your poll taxes when
you pay your property tax. If you
pay by mail, be sure to include the
amount of your poll taxes even
though you do not intend to vote as
we cannot accept the payment other-
wise. If you use the Spi!? payment
plan, please include the amount for
poll taxes with your first half pay-
ment which must be by Nov. 30th.
I have been instructed and advised
by the State Comptroller that he will
not approve my tax roll or tax ac-
count unless I comply fully with the
above ruling.
Yours respectively,
J. W. Pearson, Tax Collector,
Cherokee County.
