BIRDS OF EAST TEXAS
By Peggye Anne Bevil
Many of us are not too well ac-
quainted with the binds found in
East Texas. This article is to help
us recognize the birds found in our
our woods, and around our homes.
The common woodpecker has a red-
head and his nest is in the holes of
trees. The robin has a rust colored
breast and his body is black. His
nest is found on branches. The bfue-
jay is easily recognized by everyone
because of its color. His nest is
found on branches. The crow is black
and his nest is found in trees. The
humimdng bird is very small with a
long beak. They are found around
flowers.
