May 7 Got to Monroe Louisiana on the Washataw River (Ouachita River)
May 9 The Division got on 13 steem boats and went down the river 74
miles and back that night obstructed by feds
May 21 Got to camp on Red River 6 miles above Grantier
May 23 Depr. camp on steem boats for Snagy Point 40 miles below Alexandria
LA to Marksville and Bayou Deglaize then back
May 28 To the steem boat at Snagy Point thence to Alexandria
May 29 Left Alexandria marched 6 miles cooked up ? days grub that night.

May 30 Left our extry baggage kept one suet one blanket Marched to Little
River got on steem boats went to Trinity at the mouth of the river
that night
May 31 Our Regiment went up the Washatau River the rest of the Division

June 1 Got to Monroe taken the cars that night at 10 oclock and went to
Dely (Delhi??) 40 miles East

June 3 We heard heavy cannonading at six??
June 6 Left at nine oclock at night northwest
June 7 Marched hard all day long
June 8 1 with 50 men and Sargent was detailed to build a floating bridge
with logs on Bayou Mason ???
June 9 We two Regiments crossed over marched hard to take Providence on
the Missippi had a little fighting that Eavening. Retreated that
night till about 12 oclock cralled (crawled) into a house full of
furniture. Slept on the furniture crampt up.
June 10 Still retreated rained very hard until late in the eavening. We
had ________
June 12 Left Floid (Floyd> for Dellhy on the Rail Road got with the Division
marched two and fro in the swamp country went back to Monrow
(Monroe) campt there some days and left
June 21 The Washatau River
June 29 Got to camps on Red River went to Alexandria thence about 20 miles
south
Aug 9 Went into the pine woods there I got 38 days furlough. Walk home
in 9 days 200 miles
