Feb 13 Went down to work on the raft throwing timbers and cutting trees
into the river to keep the Gunn boats from comming up the river.

Feb 20 Left the raft and came back to camp near Marksville
March 7 Two of the men hand cuffed and sent to Marksville
March 8 I was detailed to help dig a well for our dompany
March 13 Retreated from Marksville marched night and day until we got 30
miles west of Alexandria
April 1 Washed and cleaned up at Plesant Hill, LA
April 4 Marched from a mill 12 miles S.E. of Mansfield on the road to
Plesant Hill to a camp 5 miles north of Mansfield
5,687th remained at camp five miles north of Mansfield
April 7 Gen. GREEN had a fight at the Mill we advanced
to the feds passed through Mansfield
with Plesant Hill next formed in line of Battle had a heavy fight
that Eavening captured 1,000 feds 200 wagons some artillery
lay in Battle that night
