time since the 1999 season,
the Tarleton Texans dropped a
Homecoming contest on Satur-
day, October 22, 2005, losing to
Abilene Christian, 18-7.
The Wildcats (3-5, 1-3) walked
away with its second straight
stunning defeat of a nationally-
ranked Texan squad. No. 19
Tarleton gained just 167 yards of
offense on Saturday, the Texans'
lowest offensive output since
Sept. 28, 2002 when Texas A&M-
Kingsville held Tarleton to just
129 yards of offense.The Texans gained just 68 yards
rushing, thanks to five sacks for
a loss of 26 yards on quarterback
Richard Bartel.
Tarleton crossed their own 43-
yardline just twice on Saturday,
once led to a touchdown the
second to an interception in the
ACU-endzone.
Tarleton got the ball with 3:14
left, but two plays later, Bartel
threw his third interception, this
time to Corey Jordan and the
Wildcat sealed the victory for
