FHA Provides Credit For Rural Housing
SHUGART COUPON sag
Cedar Hill Chronicle
610 Cedar St.
it
In these days of steady
rising costs in the home
building industry there
is a ray of light at the end
of the tunnel for some
rural residents and
farmers unable to meet
the requiremnts of.
private lenders. This ray
of light is generated by
the Farmers Home Ad-
ministration a U.S.D.A.
Agency that helps rural
residents and farmers
by providing housing
credit in areas not
generally served by
private lenders, and
extending housing loans
to families unable to
meet terms of other
lenders. The target
group is low and
moderate income
families.
There are six types of
loans, each geared to
serve a specific group.
Even families with
incomes as high as
$20,000 can qualify for
some assistance. Repay-
ment terms vary
depending on the income
A&M CLUB
The Southwest Dallas
County A&M Club will
celebrate Muster again
this year at Roberts
Forest Park April 29 at
1:30 p.m.
Muster is a tradition
which began in 1903 and
is a time for Aggies to get
together to pay homage
to former students who
have died during the
past year. According to
John Adams, class of'73,
l,it is a way for each of us
to renew each year our
loyalty and unity which
constitute the basic foun-
dations of our friendship
for each other and love
and devotion for our
school."
This year a picnic will
lake place at Roberts
KorestPark, 1215 Turner
and Colorado. Everyone
expected to bring a
)vered dish (meat and
. egetable, salad or
dessert) and your own
drinks. Ice, plates, cups,
knives and forks will be
provided. All Aggies,
their families and
friends are invited.
Kay Don, assistant
director of athletics for
Women at Texas A&M,
will be the speaker. She
is a member of the
Speaker's Bureau for the
Governor's Council on
Physical Fitness and
was named Outstanding
Educator of American
Colleges and Univer-
sities for 1971-72.

tion regarding the

Families in the very
low-income bracket,
with practically no
ability to repay, are
assisted with making
home repairs to correct
health and safety
hazards. Assistance is in
the form of a loan or
grant, with a limit of
$5,000 per family. Appli-
cants must be 62 years
old or older. The main
use of these funds is to
bring running water and
install bathrooms in
homes.
Although not yet in
operation, Congress has
passed a new bill, S-3084,
which helps the very
low-income family
obtain adequate
housing. The act
provides for a Home
Ownership Assistance
Program (HOAP),
under which a family
will pay 25 percent of its
entire income towards
