Acoustic music slated for Sunset Sounds Friday
Sunset Sounds will bring music
to the air tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 8.
Enjoy musical entertainment as the
sun sets over the Corpus Christi Ship
Channel every second Friday of the
month from April to October.
The free outdoor concert will be
held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Patsy
Jones Amphitheater in Roberts Point
Park.
"Bring a lawn chair, your favorite
beverage and let the cool tunes soothe
your soul," saidRachael King, assistant
director of Parks and Recreation.
Rosewood, abandfromFlourBluff,
will be featured this month.
The Rosewood band has been
performing for more than ten years in
the area. Mike Robinson plays fiddle,
mandolin and sings; Jill Robinson
plays upright bass and Darrel Perkins
plays guitar and sings.
Their acoustic music is based
on bluegrass with influences from
Cajun, Southern rock, old country and
contemporary Texas songwriters.
"Their eclectic choice of songs
illustrates their musical motto which
is, 'Take it how you find it and make
it how you want it'," said King.
