The Stifdy Circle of the San Antonio
section of the Council of Jewish Women
will meet Thursday afternoon. The sub-
ject for the discussion of the round ta-
ble will be "The Laws of the Jews,"
with Mrs. L. A. Freed as leader.
Friday afternoon the DeZavala School
Mothers' Club will meet at the school
at .<:45 p. m. A talk on "The Work
of the Year," will be mads by Prof. J.
K. Harris. An enjoyable program will be
given by the pupils of the first grade.
The iu htesses for the afternoon will in-
elude Mesdames G. Bearmau, G. L. Dull-
uig, G. 11. Glvens and J. H. Morrison. A
full attendance is requested as the annual

Article 2. Objects: The object of this
organization is to foster arid promote the
welfare of Catholic students and the
building and maintenance of an adequate
dormitory for Catholic girls at the Uni-
versity of Texas.
Article 4. Officers: The officer* of this
organization shall ne president, a first
vice president, a second vice president, a
recording secretary, a corresponding sec-
retary, a treasurer and auditor, who
with four members elected for the pur-
pose, shall constitute the executive
board. The president, vice presidents,
secretaries, treasurer and auditor shall
be elected by ballot at the annual meet-
ing In each year, to take office Immed-
iately upon election, and shall hold office
or two years and until their successors
re elected Said four members, of the
xecutlve board shall bo elected also by
ballot snd serve for three years, until
their successors are elected.
Article 6. The president, and in her ab-
sence, the vice presidents, according to
their rank, shall preside at all meetings
of the organization, and In the event of
the absence of the president and the vice
presidents, a meeting of the organization
or of the executive board may elect Its
presiding officer. The president shall,
with the secretary, sign all written con-
tracts and obligations of the organiza-
tion and shall perform such other duties
as the executive committee and the so-
ciety sh#ll assign them.
Article 6. Finances: The treasurer shall
collect all dues and claims of the organ-
ization and shall deposit the same In a

Article 7. The corresponding secretary
ahull give notice of all meetings of the
society organization and of the executive
committee; she shall conduct the corre-
spondence and keep the records of the
organization. She shall furnish to the
treasurer the names of all - persons elect-
ed to membership and shall notify per-
sons elected to membership of their elec-
tion and shall be the keeper of the seal
of the society.
Article 8. Section 1. The executive com-
mittee shall adopt a proper seal for this
organization and Bhall have general
charge of the affairs, funds ana prop-
erty of the organ iztttIon. It shall have
full power and It shall be its duty to
curry out the purposes of the organiza-
tion, according to its charter and con-
stitution.
Section 2. The executive board shall
have power to fill all vacancies which
shall occur In the offices of the organ-
ization for the unexpired term of such
officer, and also to fill all vacancies In
the memberaliip of the executive board
until the next annuul meeting.
Section 3. Any member of the executive
board who shall absent herself from three
consecutive regular meetings, unlesa she
shall have previously obtained permis-
sion to do so from the committee, or
shall present at the next regular meeting
an excuse for her absence satisfactory to
each member of the committee present,
ahull be deemed to have resigned.
Article !>. Section 1. There shall be an
annual meeting of the society in the
month of January of each year on such
a date and at such hour aa the executive
board may designate.
Section 2. At all meetings of the or-
ganization, twelve regularly enrolled
members of the organization shall con-
stitute a quorum for the transaction of
business. If no quorum be present, the
presiding officer shall adjourn tho meet
ing to any oilier day, with the same ef-
fect as If held above.
Article lf>. Bach member shall pay an
Initiation tee of Jl, and the annual dues
for members shall be II, payable annu-
ally in advance. When the dues of any
member shall remain unpaid for the
space of three months the treasurer shall
cause her to be notified by mall, and If
eho falls to pa.v within one month there-
after, she shall cease lo lie a member
without any action of the executive
board; but she nipy reinstated by a
voto of a majority'or tliw members of tho
executive board present at any regular
meeting.
Article 11. The constitution may be
amended al any annual meeting of the
organization, or special meeting called
for the purpose, by a two-thirds vote In
tho affirmative, a quorum being present
and voting. Notic* of the proposed
amendments shall be furnished to tlie
secretary at least fifteen day« before the
meeting at which it is proposed to con-
sider them, and the secretary shall cause
such notice to be printed and sent to
each member at least ten daye before
such meeting.

"Corpus Christ! will be the next meet-
ing pl^ce «»f the Texas Federation of
Women's Clubs. This city has been
selected as the 1913 host of the club wom-
en of the State who will come here in
November nearly a thousand strong. The
lection of Corpus Chrlstl was brought
about at a meeting of the general*com-
mittoe, in session at Sherman, and the
elcorne announcement was nado last
night. Mrs. G. R. Scott, president of the
City Federation of Women's Clubs, re-
ceived tbe following telegram from Mrs.
Fred Fleming, vice president at large:
" 'Shernum, Tex., April 3, 1913.—Mrs.
Q. It. Scott, Corpus Chrlsti, Tex.: Corpus
Chrlsti selected as meeting place for
annual session in November. Mrs. Fred
Fleming.'
'Mrs. Feming presided over the session
of the general executive board, which
comprises the officers of the State Feder-
ation and all committee chairmen, be-
cause the president of the State Federa-
tion, Mrs. Eli Hertzberg of Han An-
tonio, had lost her mother recently and
was unable to be present.
CLAIM PREVIOUSLY PRESENTED.
"Corpus Christi's invitation to the
Texas Federation of Clubs to hold its
November, 1913, session here was pre-
sented at the Fort Worth conventioa last
fall by Mrs. G. R. Scott. The Corpus
Chrlsti clubs had previously determined
to enter the lists and had sent aa dele-
ates to the Fort Worth convention Mrs.
Scott, Mrs. W. W. Jones, Mrs. E. G.
Crabbe. Mrs. F. M. Fox and Mrs. H. H.
Boedker. The delegates carried with
them invitations signed by the presidents
of the seven federated local clubs, the
mayor of the city and tjie president of
the Commercial Club. Mrs. Scott was
selected to extend the Invitation on ac-
count of the fact that she had been
president of the Fifth Texas district and
was well known throughout the State.
No action was taken at that time, as the
selection of a next meeting place is left
with the executive board or committee.
Corpus Christi, Sherman and Abilene
were the contesting cities. Corpus
Christi received strong backing from all
sections of the State, Mrs. A. B. Peti-
colas of Victoria, president of the Fifth
district, working in behalf of this city.
BIG CONVENTION ASSURED.
'A great convention, probably the great-
est in the history of the federated clubs
of Texas, will be held here. That much
is sure. It is estimated that the general
oranization will send, at least four hun-
dred delegates, perhaps as many visitors,
and throughout this section of Texas,
particularly in the Fifth district, hun

fifth district of the Congress of Moth-
ers which waa held In Beevllle In the
early part of April.
Wednesday afternoon the Phoenli Club
will meet at the St. Mary's auditorium.
