Packing House Is Secured for Wichita State Bank and Trust Company Is Be-
Falls. Together With a Brick Fac-
tory Capitalized at $150,000.
l>ailj' Express Austin Bureau.
WICHITA FALLS, Tex.. May 15.—A
packing house with $300,000 capital and
a brick plant with $150,000 capital are
the latest additions to the industries of
Wichita Falls, both having been land-
ed within the past ten da>s. The first
\Aill employ 200 men and the second
about seventy-five. The pack; house
was secured by putting up a $50,ooo bonus
and the brick plant was secured by Riv-
ing a r.O-acre sit. and guaranteeing a
f>-oent rate on natural gas. These new
concerns will add over 1000 persons to
the population of Wichita Falls Another
vacant Industrial acquisition was a fur-
niture and mattress factory, with a cap-
ital stock of $4'i,o0u, employing about
fifty hands.
In the opinion of President Emerson of
the United States Packing Company,
who is promoting the packing house
proposition here. Wichita Falls is the
best location for a paekery in the United
States.
If I didn't think it was,'' he said
recently, "I wouldn't he here to make
you this proposition." In Mr. Emer-
son's opinion. Wichita Falls will have
100,000 population within five years Lo-
cal people have always thought this and
with a few more concerns like these
listed the mark will b» brought much
nearer.
