Room Mothers
Have Dinner
For 6 th Grade
CEDAR HILL
What began as a jest from their
teacher before the last P-TA meet-
ing snowballed into a Thanksgiving
dinner at the school lunchroom for
the sixth grade Monday night.
In announcing the P-TA meet to
her class and urging them to get
their parents to attend, Mrs. Eliza-
beth Hunstable told the pupils that
if their class won the attendance
prize they might even get to have
a dinner.
And when the sixth grade did
actually have more parents at the
meeting and thus win the attend-
ance prize, the idea grew and
ended with the chicken-and-dress-
ing dinner being given the class
by the homeroom mothers.
Entertainment for the dinner in-
cluded class singing and two spe-
cial readings by Mrs. Delora Ed-
wards of Duncanville. The welcome
was given by Mrs. Betty Albright,
and the response was made by
Dolores Davis.
Mrs. Fay Clark, chairman of the
sixth grade room mothers^ had
charge of arrangements for the
dinner. Food was donated and pre-
pared by mothers of the students.
Mrs. Dorothy Thomas planned the
decorations and was assisted by
the Camp Fire Girls. Mrs. Marietta
Clark was chairman of the pro-
gram committee.
Don is a graduate of Duncanville
High School where he played foot-
ball and baseball. He will work
for Sears-Roebuck in Dallas.
He is married to Mrs. Shirley
Joyce E>ahiel. They have two chil-
dren, Stephen, 3 years old, and
Donna Sue, 2 years old. They will
live in the former home of Don's
parents on Seventh Street. The fam-
ily wili return next week from
Shreveport where Shirley and
the children were with her father,
Mr. Langston.
