Cowboy Church's first
anniversary celebration was
a success.
MCCC celebrated one
year in our new church locat-
ed at 1600 W. FM 455 in
Montague.
The day was started by a
trail ride with many partici-
pating. There was a bounce
house and new playground
equipment available all day
for the youngsters. Craft
vendors were set up under
the awning all around the
church. There were a variety
of great items for sale.

Annual Thanksgiving
Luncheon is scheduled for
Thursday, Nov. 17 at 400
Boston Street, Nocona, the
Senior Citizen's Center.
This is a community-wide
event to help raise funds in
support of the local Meals on
Wheels Program that serves
over 60 home-delivered
meals daily to the elderly
and shut-ins.
A traditional Thanksgiv-
ing menu will be served, fea-
turing turkey and dressing,
all the trimmings, and end-
ing with homemade pies.
The meal will be served at
12 noon and will cost $7 per
person, children for $3. All
the proceeds will go toward
helping insure our ongoing
commitment to serve those
needing help in our commu-
nity.

Since there has been pen,
paper and literacy, soldiers
have written to their families
at home to let their loved
ones know how they are
doing.
In commemoration of
Veteran's Day on Friday,
Nov. 11, the Tales 'N' Trails
Museum is hosting Kenny
and Susan Mayo of Wichita
Falls in "Letters Home" - a
sampling of soldiers' letters
from the Civil War to Desert
Storm - beginning at 7 p.m.
Accompanied by music of
the period Mayo, who often
takes part in Civil War re-
enactments, hopes to give
the audience an appreciation
of the serviceman's perspec-
tive, concerns and feelings.
There is no charge for
veterans and their spouses,
or for members of the
Museum.
For all others admission is
$5.
Refreshments will be
served.

dinner hanksgiving liar
It is time to join together
as a community and give
thanks to God for our many
blessings.
Christ Community
Church will be hosting the
annual Thanksgiving Day
Dinner at the Nocona Dairy
Queen. The traditional
turkey dinner with all the
fixings will be served from
11 a.m. through 2 p.m. it is
free for everyone who would
like to attend or who would
like a meal delivered.
This event would not be
possible without the support
of our community. If you
would like torn help in any
way, or would like a meal

There was a concession
stand available all day with
great food and drinks.
Around noon there was a
football game with the adults
playing against the young-
sters. Then there was goat
roping, mutton bustin' and a
calf scramble for two age
groups. Great prizes were
awarded to the youngsters
that participated.
A chuck wagon dinner
was served at 5 p.m. The
Ranch Rodeo followed with
12 four man teams compet-
ing.
Great prizes were given
to the top 4 teams as follows:
1st place team 4R, 2nd place
0-6, 3rd place Long Cattle
Co. and 4th place went to
Begeman Ranch.
Top Hand award was
given to Jay Ready and Top
Horse award was given to
Neal Stark.
Congratulations to all
winners, thanks to everyone
participating and special
thanks to all of those who
worked so hard to put this on
and make it a great success.
