220.-Foods-Dietetics. Essentials of an adequate diet for persons
of different ages, and nutritive values of common food materials
with their relation to health. Lecture one hour per week.
Prerequisite: Foods 202 for home economics majors, open to all
other students. (Formerly 321.)
361.-Foods. The application of principles of economy and
the dietetic requirement of the family to menu planning and table
service. Lecture one hour per week, laboratory four hours
per week. Prerequisite: Foods 202 and 220.
Clothing
311.--Textile and Laundering. A study of textile materials,
their selection and care. The laboratory work will deal primarily
with removal of stains, testing, and laundering processes of different
textile fabrics. Laboratory two hours per week; lecture
two hours per week. (Formerly 302.)
212.-Elementary Clothing. The work of this course deals
with the fundamental principles underlying the study of clothing.
Practical selections and constructive problems are made. Prerequisite
or parallel: Art 320, and Clothing 311 (Formerly Clothing
303.) Laboratory four hours per week.
320.-Costume Design. A study of period costume for the
purpose of serving as an inspiration for creating modern costumes.
This course also deals with the selection and designing of costume
in relation to the individual and to the occasion. Prerequisite:
Art 320. Laboratory four hours per'week and lecture one hour
per week.
353.-Clothing (advanced). A study of principles of pattern
construction and design in relation to the human figure, with a.
development of the foundation pattern and the making of flat
patterns from it; the construction of garments. Laboratory six
hours per week. Prerequisite: Clothing 221, 320.
