AMOUNT OF WORK WHICH MAY BE TAKEN
Abilene Christian College recognizes that many young people desire
to complete their college education as quickly as possible. Capable
students, as in the past, should be permitted to do extra work each
semester and thus to complete the requirements for their degree in
the minimum amount of time consistent with sound educational practice.
Although 12 hours is a full-time student load, 15 hours is the
average load, and a student must petition for less than 15 hours. The
following regulations shall prevail with reference to the amount of
work which may be taken:
1. The first semester a student is in Abilene Christian College, he
is permitted to enroll for not more than 19 semester hours, including
a one-hour activity course in physical education. (iStudents
who were in the lowest fifty per cent of their high school
graduating class, or who work for part of their expenses, should
take a lighter load.)
2. In order to continue with 19 hours, including physical education,
the student must have attained a grade point average of 2.5 or
must have a grade point average of 2.7 on the preceding semester.
3. A student who has attained a grade point average of 3.5, or who
made a grade point average of 3.7 on 18 or more hours the preceding
semester, may take a maximum of 21 hours.
GRADE REPORTS
Grade reports for students who are failing are sent to the parents
or guardians each six weeks. The two final semester reports for all
students except adults who pay their own expenses are sent to parents
or guardians.
EXAMINATIONS
The regular final examinations are held during the last four days
of each semester. No examinations will be given in advance. If a student
must take an examination later than the scheduled date, he must
secure written permission from the Dean. For "make-up" tests or
examinations a fee of $1.00 is charged each student. This fee must be
paid the Bursar before the instructor is permitted to give the test or
examination.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR REGISTRATION
All students are required to register in person. A transcript of
credits (high school or college) should be sent to the registrar at least
two weeks before registration.
Detailed registration instructions are given in the class schedule
booklet. Students who do not have a copy should secure one before
registration.
Before a new student is admitted to the registration room he is
required to have a registration permit from the Registrar.ABILENE CHERISTIALN COLLEGE
