An Inquiry.

Burton, November 29.—I write
to inquire if there is a teachers as-
sociation in this county ? Having
taught in the county for more than
a year, and having nover heard of
such an organization here, I natur-
ally oonclude there is none; but if
there is, I should like to becomo a
member of it. If not, 1 propose
to my fellow teachcrs that some
one call a meeting for the purpose
of organizing. These associations
exist in almost every other county
in the state and are productive of
much good. Why should the
teaohers of Washington, one of the
oldest, richest and most populous
counties in Texas lag behind J

Tramway.—The attention of the
business men of this city is respect,
fully called to the editorial on the
prosposed tramway to Independ-

«md public enterprise tramways can
be built to all important points in
the county.

Creamery.—The question has
been asked, would a creamery pay
in this vicinity? A creamery is a
butter and cheese factory, to which
the producers of milk carry their
fresh milk twice a day; it is then
made into butter or cheese by the
use of the most improved machin-
ery, thus producing a uniform
quality of butter. Thero is no
reason why such a factory could
not bo made a success in thickly'
settled neighborhoods. The pro-
duct of a creamery would find
ready sale at good priecs in every
largo town in tho state.
Tus following is a truth from

Advertising shows enterprise aud
