scheduled for a joint discussion
In the county during the next ten
days. After meeting two ap-
pointments at Bartlett and Gran-
ger on Saturday afternoon, their
'friends persuaded them to cancel

Protracted Meeting.
Roy. Andrews of Siloam
Springs, Ark., is preaching at
the new Methodise tabernacle day
and night. He has been direct-
ing much of his preaching toward
stirring up and warming up the
membership of the church, in
which hd has been largely suc-
cessful. No considerable in-
gathering has so for been accom-
plished but proppeets are reason-
ably good. Mr. Andrews is an
ablo man and will accomplish
much good whether the meeting
Bhall show as visible results in
many converts or not.
Later There were several con-
versions last night and muoh in-
terest manifested. On Sunday
morning Rov. Andrews subject
will be "Home Government;" at
night, he will preach on "The!
Wages of Sin." In, the after-
noon he will talk to "the Jchildren.

Confederate Reunion.
Taylor Tex, June 30. The exe-
cutive committee of 'tho William-
son County Ex- Confederates
Association are in session for the
purpose of naming a place to
hold their annual meeting. The
committee consists Of F. T.
Roche A. J. Booty D. P. Wilcox,
J. H. Faubion J. R. Hargin and
G. W. Glasscock. No place has
been definitely determined on but
they will moot somewhere in the
county in July.
Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Hunter are
sick with typhoid fever. They
have been confined to the bed a-
bout ten days. The fever is re-
ported to bo of rather mild form
so far, though it will doubtless
continue for a week or two yet.
A residentof Bartlett William-
son county, who was in Waco re-
cently, stated that .this town,
whioh is situated in one of the
heaviest cotton producing belts
of Texas, was making a strong
effort to secure a cotton mill. The
amount of cotton brought to Bart-
lett is very large, and it is argued
that if Texas is to become the
home of cotton factories, then
Bartlett should have one. The
matter is receiving careful con-
sideration and strong hopes are
entertained that deoisive steps,,
may be taken in tho matter.
The town, he stated,, is also af
ter a big natatorium in order to-
use the artesian mineral waters,,
and a fire company is also to be
organized on a strong, basis.
