First Baptist Church met
in the church parlor Sept.
8 for a salad supper and
the regular meeting.
Invocation was given by
Mrs. Charlie Taylor.
Opal Flower presided
over the meeting. Min-
utes were read and ap-
proved.
Mrs. Jack Brown ap-
pointed Mrs. Loyd Fow-
ler, Mrs. Weldon Mc-
Clure and Mrs. Jimmy
Edwards to the nominat-
ing committee. It was de-
cided to keep the second
Monday as the meeting
date.
Mrs. H.W. Fite gave the
devotional. She spoke on
“Christ Makes A Differ-
ence In Our Lives” and
told the story of a fami-
ly in Brazil. Mrs. Sam
Grizzle led the closing
prayer.
Members present were
Mmes. Fowler, Brown,
McClure, Eva Eades,
Grizzle, Edwards and
Cassie Crump. Visitors
were Mrs. Charlie Tay-
lor and Mrs. H.W. Fite.
Delta County
Reunion Set
Lubbock Sunday
The Delta County Re-
union will be held Sun-
day at Mackenzie Terrace
Party House, Lubbock.
The reunion begins at
10 a.m. Basket luncheon
will be at 12:30.
Prizes will be given to
the person coming the
greatest distance, to the
largest family present,
the oldest person present
and the youngest person
present.

the home of the bride's
parents, Wednesday, Sep-
tember 3rd.
The bride, given in
marriage by her father,
wore a street length drees
of blue antique satin.

Jarrett served as beet

The couple will reside
in Floydada.

Maids paid Crosbyton’s
share of the White River
Lake Day expenses, $125,
and st 111 had a net profit
of $280 after expenses
from the “Miss Lake
Preliminary” held Au-
gust 21.
Report on the Miss
Lake Preliminary was
made at the Chamber
Maids meeting Monday
night in the Chamber of
Commerce office.
Expenses included
newspaper advertising
for the preliminary and
also for Lake Day, pro-
gram printing and sup-
plies for the show. The
$280 profit includes $35
in accounts receivable.
The constitution and
by-laws were amended
and adopted by those pre-
sent. Copies of the revi-
sions and a review of
planned projects will be
mailed to members dur-
ing the next month.
Among changes in the
by-laws adopted were
setting the dues at $5
per month, changing the
number of members of
the board of directors to
seven, and setting meet-
ing dates at noon on the
second Monday of each
month except for every
fourth meeting, which will
be held at night.
The Chamber Maids
will hold their annual
membership meeting in
connection with the annual
Chamber of Commerce
banquet.
It was pointed out that
a new set of seven di-
rectors will be elected
to begin their terms Jan.
1, in accordance with the
revised by-laws.
Projects approved by
the members to be held
in cooperation with the
Chamber of Commerce
include the Christmas
lighting contest, the an-
nual Chamber Banquet
and the 1970 Miss White
River Lake preliminary.
Preparations for the lat-
ter are to begin in Jan-
uary if next year’s Lake
Day is set on Memorial
Day, May, 1970.

Glenn Watts, Chamber of
Commerce manager.
