Scholl-Crist Wedding
In Bellaire
In a candlelight service on the
evening of Dec. 23, Miss Linda
Kay Crist was married to Ensign
Russell Scholl, Jr. in Bellaire
Methodist Church with the Rev.
Don Pevey performing the double
ring ceremony.
Maid of honor was the bride’s
sister Marcia. Bridesmaids were
Miss Terry Harms of San Antonio
Mrs. Mary Ann Vickers of Aus-
tin, Miss Martha Ann Scholl and
Miss Cheryle Collins of Bellaire,
and Miss Gail O’Hair of Phoenix,
Arizona. Little Kim Hazlett of
Houston was flower girl.
The best man was Lewis Clai-
borne of Houston. Richard Gross,
Donald Good, Jon Graves, Roger
Himes and Raymond Wright, all
from Bellaire and Houston, were
groomsmen. John Kinzer of Cor-
pus Christi and Bob Emerson of
Bellaire were ushers. John Suggs
was soloist.
The bride is the daughter of
Colonel and Mrs. George Crist of
Montgomery, Alabama. The groom
is the son of Mrs. Suzanne Scholl,
4600 Willow and Russell Scholl ofi
Baton Rouge, La.
For her wedding the bride chose
a De Lustre candlelight satin gown
featuring appliqued Chantilly lace
re-embroidered with clusters of
pearls. It had a sabrina neckline,
long fitted sleeves, and a full cath-
edral train. Her three-tiered fin-
ger-tip veil of DeLuxe English
illusion was flowing from a cap-
let of Chantilly lace medallions.
She carried a bouquet of white
rose buds.
Her attendants wore identical
gowns with Sherwood forest green
velvet bodices, scoop necklines and
a bell-shaped skirt of ivory crepe
Methodist
and a back panel that draped from
the waist forming a short train.
Their headpieces were a forest
green velvet rose and petals on a
bow which was circled by an illu-
sion veil. They each carried a
bouquet of yellow rose buds. The
flower girl carried out the same
coloring with a full length Sher-
wood forest green velvet gown with
a large ivory peau de soie sash.
She wore an arrangement of yel-
low rose buds in her hair.
A reception in the Red Room
of Kaphan’s followed the ceremony
and here, following tradition, the
groom cut the four-tiered cake with
a sword.
Both the bride and groom are
graduates of the University of Tex-
as. After a honeymoon in Horse
Tail Falls, Mexico, the couple will
be at home in Meridian, Miss,
where the groom is presently in
Basic Jet Pilot Training.
