any of who buy and sell, from the farmer
to the housewife. The real estate man com-
plains when he sees the relative aiie of
the basket containing $5 worth of groc-
eries back in 1941 and now in 1947. Yet
he thinks it quite smart to turn over a
house at the price of $10,000 which he
would hath: had a hard time selling back
in 19il for $4,000.
All of us would like to have 1947 in-
comes and buy at 1941 prices. But such
an economic monstrosity would bring on
a depression and disjointed situation that
; would be impossible to estimate. All good
1 times and relative prosperity, rather than
this artificial condition which, if carried
forward, means great damage to the fi-
' nancial structure.
The intelligent business man does not
want the average buyer priced out of his
market. But prices simply have to follow
wage trends and the cost of production
and there is no other alternative. All the
| complaining and resoluting, appeals to do
without and tighten on your belt will have
1 nothing to do with it.
When we get to producing enough,
stay on our wojk and forget about trying
| to level the other man down and ourselven
1 up, we will come out of this.

According to word from England
where the socialistic policies of the gov-

period long enough for the people to find
out something about its functioning, they
are growing rapidly tired of the deal. This
is declared to be true, even in the ranks of
labor itself, which the government is sup-
posed to most favor. But that is the trouble
with any form of government whose poli-
