class fied ads are
a small thread which he followed until it
led to the garment with the man pf full
jtature therein, we have this great contri-
bution to the industrial life of the South-
land.
The mill to be erected at Lufkin will
be only a beginning of such industries,
since there is an unlimited amount of raw
material in native pine which can be re-
plenished every 15 years.
Paper mills in Canada which have
heretofore been making all of our news-
print, must wait 50 years for their crop of
spruce to grow. Thus we have at our com-
mand an endless supply of raw material
with assurance of its continuity.
No one can hardly image what this
means to the owner of land in this state
where hardly anything but pine trees could
grow, dotted occasionally with sassafra
and sumach bushes.
This new source of income to su: i
land owners, many of whom are not ble;-
sed with any too much of the world s
goods, will be a big factor in making the
wide difference between their hut life and
living in more commodious surroundings. It
will go far toward lifting hundreds of fami-
lies from meager existence to where they
will have an income that will comport
more with a standard of living of which
all Texans are worthy.
The project is the result of long and
laborious undertaking and those who have
succeeded in bringing it to this happy fruit-
ion along with the great Dr. Herty, de
serve the unstinted praise of all.
