At a meeting o f about 400
farmers and business men in
Waxahachie Saturday it was the
prevailing opinion that the cotton
acreage should be cat one*halt
year. A sensible decision,
v News Herald.
Yes! But how man^ of these
tanners pledged to cut down
The cotton acreage reduction
bill tailed to pa«s, and it is uo to
the farmers, just as it should be
to use their judg*ment, and ttaev
should let good judgment pre^
vai , not greed, with the bones
that A. B. and C will reduce
their acreage, and Mr. D wi 1 go
ahead and plant double acreage
in i o ton.
The threatening weather kept
a great many of the press people
from attending the fair Monday,
bat those who braved the ele-
ments of the morning won out,
as the brave always do The
threatened rain passed over.
The editors with their- friends
met in tbe Chamber o f Com-
merce and after the usual greet-
ings had been exchanged were
taken in autos through the bu>i
ness streets of the citv then to
the fair grounds. Col. N. T
Blackwell and wife in their car
piloted the party, aDd tbe ladies
ot the Lancaster Herald family
were given seats in this car and
followed by the band headed tbe
long line of sight seeing auto#.
At the fair grounds a short stop
was made a t convention ball,
where Col. Simpson gave a cor-
dial welcome, and then headed
by the band the company was
escorted to the cafe where a
splendid luncheon was served.
Then the gang hit tbe pike. Dares
were given and taken. From
the first show on tbe pike to tbe
end ot the line came amused and
interested visitors; and in a few
short boars the sight seers bad
visited many climes and met
many people and visited the
varions exhibits. The program in
coliseum is tbe best ever out on
and is flean from start to bnisb.

the nuts 'could be held in the

The prooosition to provide every

one. as a bag of nuts is not only
a delicacy, but has food1 value.
Permission has been granted by
the railrpad commission to trans-
port free of charge these gifts,
and tbe Christmas ship will
carry the gift9 from the United
States to the children in distress.
Get your nuts ready, and watch

all the details: “Do you want to
