Such was the name used by
President S. L. Randlett in his
opening remarks at the Business
Men-Farmers’ meeting held Wed-
nesday afternoon, pursuant to ad-
journment March 30th.
Secretary H. R. Howell read the
minutes of last week’s meeting as
chronicled in The Lancaster Herald
and they were adopted as read.
In response to reports of com-
mittees, the committee on By-Laws
stated they were in correspondence
with several clubs, but had no defi-
nite information to offer. They were
granted more time.
J. H. Darby as chairman of Ways
and Mearts committee stated until
the By-Laws committee had decided
on dues and assessments, and the
Membership committee gave a list
of. members, the committee had
nothing on which to work. In re-
sponse to a call from the President
Messrs. Mauldin, Howell and Little
discussed dues and assessments.
Mr. Little, as past president of the
Community Development Associa-
tion, suggested the individual fee's
be made on a basis that none vfould
feel burdened, and that assessments
be made chi business firms, as per
benefits to be derived

responded to the call from the
Chair with valuable suggestions.
* Motion by C.M.Hammond, second
by J. 0. McShan that the ways and
ineans committee be empowered to
fix dues and assessments as seemed
right in their judgment and report
at the next meeting.
W Miller stated he had been
asked how the farmers were to be
benefitted by the organization. The
Chair responded b y stating the
maintaining of good markets, the
increased efficiency brought about
through co-operation, and the work
that an organization can secure and
put through where individual efforts
would fail.
E. U. Thompson for membership
committee reported no work done,
as they had waited for an announce-
ment as to fees. He called upon all
present who had not enrolled to
meet him at the dose of the meet-
ing.
Will L. Randlettsuggested Ways
and Means and Membership com-
mittees get together at once. The
suggestion was accepted as good.
A discussion of the question of
Trades Campaign followed, and the
matter was referred to the com-
mittee on advertisement and dis-
tribution.
It was the sense of those present
that meetings should be held each
week until the organization was
thoroughly perfected and in good
working condition. Meeting adjourn-
ed to reassemble Wednesday, April
13th, 230 p. m. at I. 0. 0. F. Hall.
