Mrs. Thomas Wayne Rogers
Marcia Ann Allen
Weds Thomas Rogers
Married Marph 31
Married March 31 in
the Evangelical Free
Church of Satellite
Beach, Florida were
Marcia Ann Allen, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. James
Byers Allen of Indialan-
tic, Florida and Thomas
Wayne Rogers, son of Mr.
and Mrs, J. Frank Rog-
ers of Cedar Hill.
The Rev. Dean John-
son performed the single
ring ceremony at 7 p.m.
before an altar decorated
with blue carnations and
white chrysanthemums.
There were candelabra
with blue pompons at the
base of each candle, and
candles along each wall
where baskets of blue
and white pompons were
hung.
The bride was given
in marriage by her father
and wore a formal-length
gown of chiffon over
peau de soie with an
A-line skirt. The bodice
was finely pleated, with
long sleeves and a high
rise neckline, both hav-
ing a ruffled effect and
banded with Cluny lace.
A bow headpiece held
her mantilla train of Bel-
gian illusion bordered
with Cluny lace and she
carried a cascade of
blue carnations and
white roses, centered
with a white rose cor-
sage.
Miss Priscilla Wil-
cox, the bride’s college
roommate, was maid of
honor and Miss Betty
Rogers, sister of the
groom, was the brides-
maid. Both attendants
wore identical A-line
gowns of blue chiffon
with empire waistlines,
puffed sleeves, and a
touch of pale blue at the
high neckline. The neck
and waist were trimmed
with copen blue Venise
lace. Each carried a
nosegay of blue and
white carnations.
Serving as best man
for his brother was Cap-
tain Joseph Rogers, Day-
Ton, Ohio and groomsman
was Bill Sisterson, Mad-
ison, Wisconsin. Ushers
were Edward Allen, bro-
ther of the bride, and
Darryl Barton.
Blue pompons.net
and steramers adorned
the refreshment table at
the reception in the
church hall. The floral
centerpiece was of blue
and white carnations and
pompons, and the cake
was three-tiered and
decorated with blue
roses. Assisting the
hosts were Miss Jean-
nette Peterson, Mrs.
Clyde Millian, Mrs. Ron
Chambers, Miss Carol
Buchanan and Miss
Joyce Fasig. Mrs. Joseph
Rogers presided at the
guest book.
The bride is a 1970
graduate of Melbourne,
Florida High School and
has been attending Fur-
man Univers ity. Her hus-
band is a graduate of
Cedar Hill High School
and University of Texas
at Arlington. He is
employed by Radiation
Inc., and after a brief
Florida honeymoon the
couple will reside in
southern Germany until
Mr. Rogers completes his
current work assignment
there.
Citrus Trees
Seldom Thrive
As House Plants
Citrus trees seldom thrive in
the home unless they are placed
directly in a sunny window.
They are subject to viruses and
root rots and can quickly deteri-
orate and die,. It is difficult to
grow them because homes are
usually too dark, warm, and
dry-
If the roots are overwatered
or become too dry only once,
most of the leaves, flowers, and
fruits will fall off. Moderation in
watering and constant fertiliz-
ing with low dosages of liquid
fertilizer are required.

BACK-FENCE ROMANCE
Hit all started over tha back fence,
With Bill Horn and Millie Lane.
First hit wuz ah “Good Mornin’”
Then ah “Think hit’s gonna rain?”
Er “Ah see tha roses ere gittin’ nice’’
Then— ‘Yer cat is shore ah purty one!” .
And—she said “Ah like tha way yuh wear yer hair”
Now THAT’S when hit really begun!
Now this brought that—an hit grew,
An then Millie wuz out there first.
Finally she put out ah “glad-eye’’ fer
Then things they shore got worse!

Finally one day she seen him— smilin’-like!
Seemed like she had that man bewitched.
Said “Yuh’re bout tha nicest man Ah know—
Why don’t you and me git hitched?”
Then Bill got spooked, he got scared,
He run right straight fer his house!
He jest wuz’nt ABOUT tuh git married-
He wuz really ah timid mouse!
Now he’s sneaked off—an moved!
“Vamoosed” tuh another town!
Now he don’t do no “fence-talkin’”
Shucks, he don’t even make ah SOUND!
