Chicken Is Favorite
Picnic, Finger Food
A picnic really could-
n’t happen without chick-
en—at least most small
fry feel that dedicated
to America’s favorite
finger food.
Chicken is every bit
as versatile as the egg it
comes from. Lucky for
us it is always a good
buy at the grocery store,
but it too offers many
choices from whole fry-
ers to a box of wings.
How does one decide?
S ome one w as* ’ k ind
enough to figur‘er the cost
per pound of whole chic-
ken fryers and compar-
able cost of chicken
parts. This little chart
gives you the answer and
helps you decide if you
can afford to let the
butcher cut the chicken
or if you need to select
the whole bird and spend
ten minutes cutting it
up. For example: If
whole fryers are 29<t per
pound, drumstick pack-
ages are an equally good
buy at 36<t per pound.

Set oven to moderate

Broil xh hour on each

To test chicken for
doneness, protect your

should twist easily out

should be fork tender.

Words Of Inspiration
'What Is Man?’
Psalms 8:4
BY THE REV. C.O. WADSWORTH
....pastor of the Melody Baptist Church
Have you ever looked up into the vastness of the
Heavens some summer night, when all the beauty of
the stars are arrayed? This mysterious, awesome, bea-
utiful display of God’s heavenly creation must have
caused David to realize the insignificance of frail man
in regard to such grandeur. Yet there is a much greater
contrast even than the magnitude of the galaxy and the
ones of man. Though God gave man dominion over all
this, put all things under his feet; man and man only
chose to rebell against his Creator. Man alone has
changed the pattern God set for him. Since the fall of
Adam, man’s heart and ways have been against his
Creator.
Yet the sun, moon and stars remain in their ordained
order. Animals under the dominion of man continue in
their created state. Now can we not wonder also with
David, “What is Man, that Thou art mindful of him.”
Surely this should convince even the most hardened
sinner, that God loves man, yes even enough to give
his only Son to die in their place, and for their sins.
The Apostle Paul says, The gospel of Christ is the
the power of God unto, salvation to everyone that be-
lieveth.
Jesus Christ himself gave the invitation during his
ministry here on this earth. ‘‘Come unto Me, all ye that
labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
God made this plea through the prophet Isaiah. ‘‘Come
now, let us reason together saith the Lord. Though
your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow:
though they be red like crimson, they shall be as
wool.” Yes, man alone of all God’s creation, has gone
astray; yet man is the object of God’s love.
Dear Friend, have you trusted in the Lord Jesus
Christ as your saviour? Have you turned to God in re-
pentance, and in faith to Jesus Christ? God is very
mindful of you, and would not have you spend eternity
in Hell. Want you hear His word today, and let Jesus
>me into your heart?
