day for Houston where he boarded
a plane for Gamp Roberts, Cali-
fornia, after spending his leave
here with his mother and other
relatives and friends.
Pvt. Louis Stryk left for Fort
Sill, Oklnhoma, Sunday night, af-
ter spending a ten day Xmas leave
here with his mother, Mrs. Albina
Stryk and brother Edwin.
IN HOSPITAL
We are sorry to report Anton
Kristynik on the sick list, and in
the Wagner Hospital. His wife is
also sick and was taken to a Gal-
veston Hospital.

Mrs. Mary Pospisil of San An-
tonio spent New Year's with her
mother, Mrs. Katherine Migl.
Mr. and Mrs. George Mazoch
and son, and Mary Lala, all of
Houston, visited here on New
Year's Day.

sons of San Antonio were guests
in the Chas. Pilat home on New
Year.
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Stasny and

Joe Stryk of San Antonio vis-
ited here on New Year's day. Mrs.
Stryk and children accompanied
him back to San Antonio.

Voldan, Marvin and Daniel Jasek
and Frank Voldan were deer hunt-
ing last week, but reported no
luck.
V. J. Stryk was a business visi-

CONTEST
A truly magnificent Xmas
Story scene presented by Mr. and
Mrs. Alexander Hollub of 2000
Schulle Avenue, Austin, won first
prize among the entries in the
Christmas outdoor lighting con-
test sponsored and judged by the
Austin Violet Crown Garden Club.
Two individual religious scenes
were presented, one of the manger
and the other of Shepherds on the
hillside.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vasut of Schu-
lenburg.

the happy parents of a baby boy,
born to them on iJecembeir 22nd
in the Youens Hospital. This is
the second child for the family, the
lother being a girl. The mother is
the former Bernice Kusey.
Miss Dorothy Dreitner, daugh-
ter of Mrs. Joe Dreitner, became
the bride of Louis Menis, Sr., son
■of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Menis, Sr.,
of New Bielau, in a ceremony
performed on December 2&, at 8:30
a. m. in the St. Michael's Catho-
lic Church. Only immediate mem-
bers of the family were present.
They will make their home in
Weimar.

and family and Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
Adamcik attended the Adamcik-
Hrachovy wedding, at Hostyn Sat-
urday.
Mrs. Adolf Blahuta has been

seems to be her trouble.
