Rev. Stanley Ray tendered hi* re-
signation a* paator of Little River
Baptist Church Sunday, April 22, ef-
fective at this date. The resignation
wus reluctantly accepted by the
church group, as he and Mrs. Ray
and little daughters, Barbara and
Jane have endeared themselves to the
entire community, the past thee years
he has served as pastor. He and Mrs.
Ray plan to enter the mission field.
At the invitation of the board he will
return Sunday April 29 for his last
service here.
Misses Billie Jo and Barbara Mas-
sengale accompanied by Misses Mad-
eline, Kathryn and Clara Hausler all
of Rosenberg spent the week end with
the formers parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Ben MassengBle.
Ed White and friend, Miss Bea
Gooch of Breaux Bridge, La., visited
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Buck White
over the week end.
Mr. and Mrs. Will Kunz of Walkers
Creek attended Sunday morning
church services at the Little River
Baptist Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Roden and fa-
mily of Victoria visited relatives and
friends here over the week end. The
Rodens are former residents of Jones
Prairie and friends welcome their re-
turn visits. '

Donald Thweatt of Houston visi-
ted homefolks.
Thomas Thweatt who is in the Na-
vy has returned to California after
spending his furlough with home-
folks here.

here Sunday.
Pat Gleason was in Dallas for his
physical last week and passed.
Mrs. Guy Self of Mumford visited
here last week.
Mrs. Lula Gaines of Chilton was a
visitor here last week.
