At a special meeting of the faculty at 4:00 P. M. President
Beto announced that Mr. Robert Long, the local district attorney,
had called to inquire about the possibility of admitting seventeen-
year-old to our school. The latter individual has earned,
considerable notoriety for infraction of civil laws. Widowed by
her husband's fall at Stalingrad, the boy's mother has remarried.
Apparently the boy can agree neither with his step-father nor with
the Beckers of Saint Martin's Church with whom he has lodged until
now. It is possible that the boy may be deported if we do not admit
him. is a sophomore at MacCullum High School.
The faculty discussed the obligations of our school and the
possible effect of admitting an undesirable character. The gro*p
was concerned about immediate student reaction and the consequent
reaction of our constituency. Ultimately it was resolved that
President Beto interview and determine whether or not to
accept him as a student.
President Beto then announced that freshman high school students
M of Waco, and , of New Orleans, were involved in
perverted sex practices. Both boys admitted having engaged in
mutual masturbation, although there is doubt in defining the
aggressor.
It was decided after lengthy'discussion to write the parents
of both students advising them to withdraw their sons from school.
The President mentioned his intent to apprize the Student Council
of the situation and to solicit their advice in dealing n ith the
offenders.
Adjournment followed at 5:30 P. M. Present were President Beto,Associate Professors Viehweg, Huebschmann and Leja, Instructors
Dinda, Olson and Kramer, and Teaching Assistant Oetting.
