Precinct 7
Constable's beat
Following is a report of activity of the Precinct 7 Constable’s Office. It
appears weekly and items of major impact will be reported separately. No
effort is made to list every call responded to by the department, but to
provide an overview of the week’s activities.
March 27
• A deputy assisted a city officer on Lantana Street at 3:55 a.m. with a minor
accident. The city officer arrested the driver for public intoxication.
• At 7:30 a.m., a deputy assisted a city unit on State Highway 361. The city
made one arrest.
March 28
• At 2:30 p.m., a deputy took a possible theft report at a local recreational
vehicle park.
• A deputy helped settle a civil disturbance at a local residence at 6:30 p.m.
• A deputy assisted a city officer at a local condominium at 9:40 p.m.
March 29
• Deputies and city units responded at 1:14 a.m. toa building on the Hats.
The building was secure.
• A deputy assisted an Emergency Medical Service unit at 2:14 a.m. in
Island Moorings. One male subject was transported to an area hospital.
• At 9:46 a.m., a deputy responded to a condominium on Stale Highway
361 concerning a drowning. EMS transported a child to a hospital in
Corpus Chrisli.
• At 6:40 p.m , deputies responded to a tavern on the beach concerning a
disturbance. Peace was restored.
• Deputies responded at 8:30 p.m. to a disturbance'at a local residence.

• A deputy assisted a city officer at 11 p.m. at a local liquor store.
March 30
• Peace was restored when deputies responded at 12:10 p.m. to a distur-
bance at a recreational vehicle park.
• All units responded at 2:45 p.m. to a house fire call on Avenue A.
• A deputy responded at 4:05 p.m. to an alarm call on Sea Breeze. The
building was secure.
• At 4:30 p.m., deputies and city units evacuated an area on Avenue A
concerning a gas leak.
• Stranded motorists were helped by deputies on State Highway 361. One
was helped at 8:20 p.m. and die other at 11:15 p.m.
March 31
• At 12:25 a.m., a deputy Ux>k a theft report at a condominium on State
Highway 361.
• EMS and a deputy responded at 12:27 p.m. to South Station Street. One
male was transported to an area hospital.
• At 1:27 p.m., a deputy noticed a male subject.staggering into the roadway
on North Alister street. The subject was arrested for public intoxication.
During a traffic stop at 5:05 p.m., a deputy arrested one male for
possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
A deputy assisted a stranded motorist on Stale Highway 361 at 11 p.m.
April 1
At 1:20 a.m., a deputy and a city officer responded to a family distur-
bance. Peace was restored. ■
A deputy assisted a city officer 1 ’55 a.m at a tavern on the flats. The city
arrested one male for public intoxication.
A deputy responded at 2 a.m. to a club on Alister Street in reference to
an intoxicated subject. The subject was released to a friend.
• A deputy responded at 3:43 a.m to the beach behind a condominium on
1 llh Street concerning a possible drowning. T he subject had decided to
take a dip.
Deputies assisted EMS at 10:27 a.m. at a call to a condominium on State
Highway 361 concerning an elderly person who was ill. The person was
transported to an area hospital.
A deputy responded to a condominium on die highway at 12: 30 p.m. to
take a report on a possible theft.
• At 1 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance at a condominium on the
highway. Two male subjects were arrested for minor in possession, one of
them for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of fictitious
identification.
Deputies responded at 2:29 p.m. to a report of a disturbance at a
condominium. One person was arrested for public intoxication.
April 2
At 1:10 a.in., a deputy and city officer responded to a tavern on the fiats
in reference to a disturbance. One male was arrested for public intoxica-
tion.
At 3:25 a.m., a deputy took a criminal mischief report.
A deputy assisted Emergency Medical Service at a condominium on the
highway where a small child fell and hit its head. The youngster was
transported to a medical center in Corpus Christi.

Coast Guard saves
two Ingleside men
“Police blotter” is a summary of the previous week’s activity by the Port
Aransas Police Dept. For practical reasons of time and space, the “blotter”
does not include every call made to police officers, nor does it include
routine security checks, m inor traffic stops or accidents. Incidents of major
impact will be reported separately.
Anything that is listed here between midnight and 8 a.m. actually happens
a day later as the police department’s days run from 8 a.m. until 7:59 a.m.
the following day. During the past week there were two shifts on which
there were no calls for service or traffic stops.
March 27
• An officer responded at 6:27 p.m. to a house on Lantana Street where an
unauthorized occupant was in the house. The subject was removed.
• An officer and a Constable’s deputy stopped at 7:22 p.m. at Avenue G and
the beach concerning a vagrant. After the vagrant was arrested for public
intoxication, it was noticed he had an injury. He was transported by
Emergency Medical Service to an Aransas Pass hospital.
• An officer went to the beach just south of Lantana Street at 3:55 a.m.
where there was a report of an intoxicated subject. The person was arrested
for reckless damage and public intoxication.
• After a traffic stop at 6:34 a.m. on State Highway 361, one person was
arrested for not having a driver’s license.
March 28
• Emergency Medical Service responded to a residence on Gulf Street
where a subject was bleeding internally. The patient was transported to a
medical center in Corpus Christi.
• At 4:44 a.m., an officer responded to a condominium on State Highway
361 where a vagrant was sleeping in the guard shack. The subject was
advised of the law and told to leave the shack at sunup.
March 29
• An officer advised at 8:30 p.m. that he was at a local liquor store where
there was a possible illegal alcohol transport. Texas Alcoholic Beverage
Commission officers were called and the case turned over to them.
March 30
• At 6:48 p.m., an officer went to a motel on Cut-Off Road where a reckless
driver was reported in the parking lot. By the time the officer arrived, the
driver had boarded the ferry and left the island.
• All units. Emergency Medical Service and the fire department responded
at 2:40 p.m. to a house explosion on Avenue A. No one was injured and
the fire was extinguished. Gas leaks were discovered and the area was
temporarily evacuated. The gas company patched the leaks. See story for
details.
• An officer went at 9:18 p.m. to the area of Avenue A and Gulf Street
where a possible gas leak was reported. The leak was located and the gas
company and fire department responded.
• At 6:08 am., an officer responded to the 200 block of Avenue F where
a strong odor of gas was reported. Gulfsidc Gas Co. was notified.
March 31
• EMS responded to the 300 block of S. Station Street where a man had cut
his fingers. The patient was transported to a hospital in Aransas Pass.
• An officer and EMS went to a restaurant on the fiats at 12:50 am. where
a subject had facial lacerations and was passed out. EMS transported the
patient to a hospital in Aransas Pass.
• Two officers went at 1:49 am. to a night spot on the fiats where a person
was being denied entrance. The person was arrested for public intoxica-
tion.
• At 2:04 am., two officers responded to a club on Alister Street concern-
ing an intox icated subject. The person was arrested for public intoxication.
• Officers assisted a county unit near Pole 3 on the beach at 3:43 a.m. in a
search for a missing female subject. She had been swimming and was
located by the county.
• EMS and a city officer went to a condominium on 11 th Street at 4:15 am.
concerning the subject from the previous entry requiring medical attention
for lowered body temperature. The patient declined treatment against
advise from EMS.
April 1
• Two officers went at 9:35 a.m. to a service station on Alister Street where
a subject was bothering customers The subject was advised to leave.
• At 10:22 p.m., EMS responded to the 300 block of Avenue F where a
person was cut and bleeding. The patient was transported to a hospital in
Aransas Pass.
• An officer advised the station at 12:32 a.m. that he was in pursuit of a
vehicle on State Highway 361 and Access Road 1A. When the vehicle was
stopped four people were arrested for reckless driving and public intoxi-

• At 4:20 a.m., two police officers responded to a report that minors were
consuming ak oho] while on the ferry. One person was arrested for minor
in possession and one juvenile was released to a parent.
• Two officers went to the 300 block of Tarrant Street at 5:16 a.m., where
was beating on the front door. The person was arrested for public

The two were plucked from the
waters of Redfish Bay, about two
miles from Aransas Pass, Thursday.
March 30, at 3:27 a.m. and turned
over to Aransas Pass Emergency
Medical Services for care.
Aransas Pass police reported a flash
ing light near Ransom Island in the
early hours of Thursday. A Coast
Guard crew, in a 20-foot boat under
the leadership of BM2 Andy Vidales,
responded to the sighting.
They found an overturned pleasure
craft with two passengers clinging to
the side.
Ranger told the Coast Guard that
the boat was disabled in the bay. As
the seas built during the morning, the
boat swamped, then capsized.
Ranger and Hayden estimated they
had been in the water about an hour
when the Coast Guard arrived on tM
scene.
At the time of the rescue the air
temperature was 53 degrees and the
water temperature was 66 degrees.
Vidales said only one of the men
was wearing a life jacket
School beautification
Fifth graders at H.G. Olsen Elementary School took part in an
effort to beautify the school Monday, April 3, when they planted
ftowers and weeded the flower beds. These youngsters in Julie
Findley s class planted five Indian hawthornes, a hibiscus and
petunias, all donated by the Port Aransas Garden Club. (Statt

Avenue G. The responsible party was contacted.

missions conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard Station Port Aransas.
March 29
• A pleasure craft was reported capsized in Position 27-52N 097-07W. A
Coast Guard unit responded and picked two people from the water. They
were transferred to a waiting ambulance on shore.
