Brother Červenka then made a brief
talk and thanked the membership for
their loyalty and support during his
administration. He mentionecl the
names of the past presidents that our
lodge had since its organization. I am
sorry I did not get the names, but he
sald from all these presidents there are
three still líving, námely Brother Čer-
venka, Emil W. Popp, and Albín Rl Su~
lak. He ended by wishing a Ha.ppy New
Year to everyone, and wishing- his
successor the best of Inek, and said
that if at anytime he needs help or
neecls the use of his Office he is al-
wavs welcomed.
President Sulak asked the member-
ship to -give a standing ovation to our
past president, Brother Robert Čer-
venka, who deserved it so well.
A get-well card v/as signed and sent
to Brother Hugo and Sister Allie
Freund who háve been on the sick list.
Also a sympathy card was signed and
-sent to Brother Raymond Urbanovsky
in Temple who last his sister, Mrs.
Agnes Pustéjovsky reoently.
The meeting was adjourned, and we
were reminded that our next meeting
will be on Feb. 6th.
Before I close this, I would like to
add that our Christmas party turnéd
out nice; it was a pleasure to see the
children do thelr parts so well. The
New Yeaťs Dance turned out well; all
the free breakíast, cured ham and pork
sausage were eaten up and everybody
had a very nice time.

LODGE NO. 8, COTTONWOOD
We had our first meeting’ of the year
1986, on Jan. 2nd. We h-ope that the
year will be a happy and prosperous
o ne for all our readers.
Our president, Bro, Raymond Vo-
choska and his wife, Sis. Emelia, had
gone to Houston to see their new
gran-ddaiuighter, Tammy Renee, the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Riddell.
Mrs.. Riddell is the former Eugenie
Vochoska of West.
In Bro. Vochoska’s absence, our vice-
president, Bro. Joe Sumbera, called the
meeting to order. The Pledge of Al-
legiance was given by Dariny Mynář,
Bobby Svrcek and Blake Straten. The
Pledge of Order was given by Blake
Straten. Bro. Mike Mazanec read the
minutes of the previous meeting, which
were approved as read.

The treasurer’s report was given by
Bro. Robert Dobecka, Bro. George
Straten gave the financial report.
New members aceepted at this meet-
ing were Estelle Hykel, R. D. Buch,
Lewis B. Nickens, Barry W. Goates,
Joseph K. Goats, Danny L. Goates,
Henry Alvin Lan der, Ji\, Wayland H.
Walker, Sr., Sue Ann Walker, Wayland
H. Walker, Jr., Rhonda Gayle Walker,
Daryl Allen Walker. Taking out addi-
tional insurance were Georgia Rosa
Pavliček and Margaret Ann Pavliček,
Visitors were Mrs. Esther Malina of
Nelson, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gerik
of Waeo, and Mr. James George of
Grand Prairie. We were glad to háve
them.
Bro. Henry Lander got hurt on the
joto and had to háve fifteen stitches
taken under his chin.
The Teen Club is planning a dance
for Feb. 13.
All the new officers were asked to
say a few words. Bro, Walter Mikeska
thanked everyone for their help during
the past year and he hoped they would
continue to help during the eoming
year.
The group selected to work on the
entertainment eommittee is as follows:
Bro. Robert Dobecka and Bro. joe
Sumbera were named chairman and
co-ehairman, respeetively; their help-
ers are: Jeremc Kaska, Raymond Hro-
mádka, John Parma, Alvin Schuetz, Al-
bín Svačina, Edward J. Marek, Walter
Mikeska, Henry Lander, Mike Ma-
zanec, George Straten, Fred Monthei,
Harry Hykel, Willie Helona, John J.
Mynar, Alfred Schuetz, Cyril Svrcek,
Raymond Vochoska, Rudolf Novotný,
Gerald Barak, Otto Hanak, Herman
Drews, George Hubik, Eddie Kubala,
Ernest Kutscherousky, Alfred Pavlas,
and Frankie Lee Uptmore.
On the kitchen eommittee are: Ly~
dia Dobecka, Hattie Kaska, LaVerne
Mikeska, Viola Parma, Mary Lander,
Margie Straten, Martha Monthei, Val-
erie Mae Helona, Mr's. John J. Mynar,
Emelia Vochoska, Olga Novotný, Adel-
le Royal, Ruby Watts, Beán Williams,
Georgie Pavliček, Ruth Krizan, Annie
Smajstrla, Marie Drews, Christine Svr-
cek, Willie Mae Marek, Mary Sumbera.
These ladies are the ones who make
the dinners and suppers a success.
On the flower eommittee is Ruth Kri-
gan.
On the resolution eommittee are
Sisters Lydia Dobecka, LaVerne Mi-
keska, and Valerie Helona.
On the sick eommittee are Sisters
Ruth Krizan, Willie Mae Setměte and
Ruby Watts.

prize.
Let us join together in a spirit of
fraternal harmony and eonperation
and help each other in whatever we
undertake.

Dear Mcmbers:
Our next meeting is on Bunclay, Jan.
16th, at 2: 30 p.m. and we invite, all of

Dear Brothers and Sisters:
This is to inform you that Lodge 88
will cOnduct its monthly meetings on
the second Friday of each month. The
first meeting will be held on Jan. 14th
at 8 p.m. Initiation of new members
will be conduicted every three months
and the first initiation will be on Jan.
14th. Ne-w members who háve not been
initiatecl are requested to be present,
and all members are also requested to
be present at the meeting and také an
active part.
