VĚSTNÍK
LODGE NO. 179, WARRENTON
Dear Members and Friends:
Lodge No. 179 held their regular
monthly meeting Friday night,
April 15th in Zapp’s Halí.
The meeting was called to or-
der by President HaroM Berg-
mann, who also led the members
in reciting the pledge of allegiance.
Roli call of officers reve'aled that
aU were present; in addition, a nice
turnout of members and a guest
were present in špite' oř the severe
thundershowers.
Ricky Weyand read the minutes
of the previous meeting and Lete
Leonhardt gave the treasureFs re-
port, both reports were accepted
as given.
Dorothy Oltmann read the fi-
nanc ial standing of Insurance and
gave the following names of ap-
plicants: Brother and Sister Arnold
Petehs; Sister Ora Lee Wickel and
daughter Melissa, Nelda Wunderlieh;
Brothers Kirby Oltmann and Ran-
dy Wied, also the two daughters of
Brother and Sister Travis Etzel.
They were1 voted on as a group. All
of thera were accepted into our
perpetually growing list of en«
thusiastic members. We are proud
to háve' them in our midst and we
welcome them to participate in
the meetings, entertainment and
various activities..
The Entertainmeht Committee
reported that they toooked a band
for our annual celebration in Sep-
tember.
Then President Betgmann and
Secretary Weyand reported that
the workshop at Taylor was en-
joyable as well as mutually bene-
ficial. They also stated that the
wonderful friendly, relaxed, frater-
nal fellowship was evident among
the members; likewise, the food
committete should be commended
for serving such a delicious meal.
Brother Bergmann and Brother
Weyand wish to express their
heartfelt appreciation to the Su-
preme Lodge' for giving them the
opportunity to learn and also the
Taylor lodge for their splendid
hospitality as hosts. There being
no further business the meeting
adjourned.
Aftter the conclusion of business,
we were privileged to háve had
Norbert Strmiska with his magni-
ficent accordion to furnish music
for dancing and listening ple'asure.
In the meantime, the ladies with
food brought by the' members, cov-
ered the huge table with bountiful
delicious cakes, cookies, chips, eth-
er snaeks and sandwiches, so that
everyone could eat when eonveni-
ent.
We again hope to háve many
members and guests at our next
regular meeting on the second Fri-
day night of the month at 8 p.m.

LODGE NO. 18, ELGIN
Dear Members:
The Elgin SPJST Lodge No. 18
held its monthly meeting April
19th, which was called to order
by our president and the pledge of
allegiance' was recited by all.
The minutes were read and ap-
proved.
New members of our lodge are:
Troy Darren Wilkerson, Štaci Pa-
tricia Young, Shawn Curtis Young.
We had two transfers: Damon Lete
Casey and Donna Casey from
Lodge 87. We welcome you to our
lodge.
The May Fete will be May 29 at
our lodge building and It will be~
gin at 3 p.m. in the aftefnoon.
Paula Peterson will be crowned
queen. A barbecue meal will be
sold and dance will begin at 6
p.m. We welcome e'aeh one to spend
the afternoon and evening with us.
Plans were also made for “Our
Western Days” in July. The lodge
will once again háve a barbtecue
booth and work will soon begin on
the barbecue pit.
Our next meeting will be May
17th,

LODGE NO. 177, ACADEMY
Dear Members and Friends;
SPJST Lodge No. 177 held its
monthly meeting April l3th and
it was called to order by President
Jerry Tomastik.
All officers were present.
Minutes from the last meeting
were read by Secretary Dorothy
Lisenbe. We had a good turnout
at the meeting and all reports of
the chairmen were good.
The Auditing Committete report-
ed all books audited and were
found to be in good shape; but they
recommended some changes for
a better bookketeping and an easier
audit.
A report was also given from the
trustees’ meeting held in April.
A motion was made to háve the
parking lot covered with asphalt.
\ bid was table'd for rest room
improvements until more bids are
received.
There was also a motion made to
elect trustees evehy year.
Our game night continues to be
a big success and game night
helpers had a wonderful meal
April 15th at St. Luke’s in Temple.
We had a good turnout and a
great time was had by all.
Louis Driska needs your help on
Tuesday nights to keep the sociál
games a success. Otis and I vpil
not be there to help anymore be-
cause we will start our bowling
league in 2 weeks; so if you mem-
bers can help Louis once a month,
please contact him next meteting
to be held May llth. Pian to at-
tend.

LODGE NO. 133, SAN ANTONIO
Lodge No. 133, San Antonio, has
passed another mile-stone; they
celebrated their 60th anniversary
in the March meeting. Sister Mar-
celi a Kleprlik and Brother Jaro-
slav Kleprlik surprised the. lodge
members with a homemade and
beautifully decorated cake with
the colors of SPJST and Lodge' No.
133 imprinted on the cake. Thank
you so much, Sister and Brother
Kleprlik.
President Matula eXpressed his
appreciation on behalf of Lodge
133 members and said that it
tehows that Brother and Sister
Kleprliks’ hearts are still with the
SPJST and recommended that
they again become SPJST policy
holders.
Lodge 133 has three charter
members living. They are Sister
Agnes Graff, who could not be
present due to illness, Sister Sophie
Mály, who is in the Southside
Nursing Home recovering from ill-
ness, and Sister Agnes Dressler,
picture with this letter, was in at-
tendance. President Matula stress-
ed the important role that these
charter members played in the
history of Lodge 133 and its mem-
bership, and wished Sisters Dress-
ler, Mály, and Graff many more
years of participation in the ac-
tivities of Lodge 133, San An-
tonio.
