STELLA RUSSELL
HALL CiOES CO-ED
By Mary Beth Sisolak
Reporter
Stella Russell Hall has made
many changes this year. Without a
doubt, the most noticeable change
has been the conversion of the
third floor to a co-ed system.
In the past, the third floor of
Stella has been all male and the
second floor all female. This year
however, due to the increase in on-
campus residents, primarily fe-
males, Stella’s third floor had to
change its look. It is now one half
male and one half female.
Hall Manager Caroline Bruner
said, “The look of Stella really
hasn’t changed, but it is still too
soon to predict the outcome.”
Bruner also said that some things
haven’t changed, such as the way
guys prefer to live. She said that
some of the male residents are still
as sloppy and inconsiderate as they
used to be and that they are still up
to the same old tricks.
Stella’s residency is at ca-
pacity. There are no private
rooms this year compared to
years past.. There are approxi-
mately 112 residents, and only
27 of them are male at the
present time.
Sophomore Nichole Bedford
and Junior Jason Keling both said
that they do not mind sharing the
third floor with each other.
Finally the banner which
greets everyone upon entering
Stella Russell Hall puts the new
living situation beautifully: “Stella
Russell Hall — Home of a few
good men and a lot of great
women.’’
