Alzheimer Memory

The Pilot Club of Mineo-
la will host their Annual
Alzheimer Memory Walk
on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at
the Mineola Civic Center.
Funds raised by the walk
will be used to support Pi-
lot Club Alzheimer related
projects and by the
Alzheimer Association to
fund support for care-
givers in the Northeast
Texas area.
Traveling trophies will
be awarded for the most
walkers in categories of: fi-
nance, education, busi-
ness, clubs, healthcare and
an open class. Prizes will
be awarded to the top three
individuals raising the
most money for the walk.
Tee-shirts will be pro-
vided with each $25 walk
entry fee. A candlelight
ceremony will honor those
who have survived, or
have died as a result of the
disease.
Dr. Mark Neeley will be
the guest speaker at the
memorial service. Partici-
pants in the walk will be
served hot dogs and chili at
the end of the walk.

The Hainesville Volun-
teer Fire Department will
hold a stew and auction
Saturday, Nov. 10, begin-
ning at 5 p.m. at the fire sta-
tion on Farm-to-Market

stew and former fire chief
Kelley Conely will serve as
auctioneer.
During the event mem-
bers of the fire department
and residents of the com-
munity will push the new
tanker into the station.
Organizers are current-
ly looking for items to auc-
tion. Proceeds will go to-
ward the daily operation of
the department.

Peyton Stephens, 10th grader, has
been chosen by the staff as Mineola
High School Student Of The Week.
Peyton is 15 years old and the daughter
of Ricky and JoAnn Stephens. She is the
older sister of Mallory, 13, and Grade, 11.
She is on the A Honor Roll and a member
of the FCA, Junior Historians, the varsity
volleyball, basketball, track, golf and cheer
teams. She is also active in the First Baptist
Church Youth Group and choir and loves
spending time with her friends and family.
Peyton plans on attending college upon
graduation.
