‘‘Lawyer Morris has been on the list of those
profitable trade. After leaving Orange, Mr.
Harris decided to locate in El Paso for the bene-
fit of his wife’s health and the change has been
productive of splendid results, as she is now
in excellent health, the high, dry climate of that
section having been very beneficial.

The city eopncil has voted to pasB np to the
people of Orange the question of voting an is-
sue of bonds for the purchase of the sanitary
sewer system installed here last year. The idea
is for this system to become a municipally own-
ed utility and rates made so reasonable that
every family in the city witljin reach of the sys-
tem can make connection with it. The propo-
sition is a good one and should meet with en-
thusiastic and hearty support.
Negotiations that were in progress here yes-
terday With a view to establishing a fruit im-
porting business here and bring fruit laden ves-
sels direct from Mexico to the wharves at Or-
ange, fell through and the deal was not con-
summated. It seems that arrangements had al-
ready been made whereby Port Arthur would
be made the distributing point for these fruit
shipments and it is altogether probable that
this arrangement will continue as perfected.

If there ever was a town on the face of the
earth that was absolutely on reed with credit
business, that town is Grange, and until busi-
ness can be gotten on a better and more satis-
factory basis, we can never hope to grow into
a city of much importance.—Orange Leader.
