is located on the San Antonio and Aransas Pass rail-
road, 18 miles from Corpus Christi. It is surround-
ed by the richest farming land to be found in south
T exas, has a packing plant with a capacity of fifty
head of cattie a day, an ice plant, electric light plant,
oil mill, cotton gins, machine shop equipped to
handle all kinds of machine work, excellent water
works system supplied with the best of water, a
grain elevator, and natural gas. These industries
are already established and employ a large number
of men. This is the foundation upon which the
new citizens locating in Taft will have to build on.
There are already a great, many well-to-do farmers
residing on their own farms in San Patricio county,
and several thousand acres more of the best lands
will be sold in farms of from 100 to 200 acres this
year.
