uber, Mary Rauschuber, Cath-

Counselors present were Mrs.

Karlik and Mrs. Mona Zahir-
niak.
For craft the members made
thanksgiving turkeys.
Refreshments of doughnuts,

double ring ceremony was per-
formed in the First Baptist
Church in West by Rev. Henry
Apperson.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Wilcox, 206
Mesquite St., West. She was
given in marriage by her father.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Wilbur J. Cassady of
Philo, Ohio. Ho is in the United
States Air Force and was prev-
iously stationed at James Con-
nally Air Force Base. Due to the
closing of the base, lie has been
transferred to MacDill Air Base
in Florida.
The bride wore a white floor-
length gown of pcau de soie with
lace empire bodice and long
tapered sleeves. Lace also
graced the skirt. Her veil of
bridal illusion fell from a crown
of pearls, and she carried a
bouquet of white orchid feath-
ered with carnations. In tradi-
tion sire wore a single drop
pearl necklace with matching
pearl earrings as something old.
a blue memento, anti a penny in
her shoe.
Miss Pat Kucera was maid of
honor and Miss Cynthia Wilcox,
sister of the bride, was brides-
maid. Miss Janis Wilcox, also
sister of the bride, was candle-
lighter. The attendants wore
gowns of satin with lace over-
skirts in blue and tourqoui.se
Thev carried nosegay bouquets
of pink carnations.
Sgt. John Franks of Bergs-
trom Air Force Base, Austin,
formerly of James Connally,
served as best man. Jimmy Wil-
vux, orothcr of the bride, served
as troomsman.
Other members of the werl-
ding party were: Mr. G. C. Hop-
kins, Jr., of West and Mr. Ralph
Hendricks of Burleson, ushers;
and Mrs. Jerry Kucera, organist.
Mrs. Cassady is a senior at
West High School where she
participated in basketball, pep
squad, and FHA. Mr. Cassady is
a graduate of Philo High School,
Philo, Ohio, where he excelled
in sports. He is presently serving
in the U.S. Air Force stationed
at Tampa, Florida. Mrs. Cas-
sady will remain in West con-
tinuing her education until mid-
term. At that time she will join
her husband, and they will make
their home in Tampa.
Parents of the bride were
hosts at a reception held at the
church fellowship hall after the
ceremony. Those in the house
party were Mrs. Carol Hend-
ricks, Mrs. Max Luper, Miss
Deborah Donohue, and Miss
Donna Donohue, cousins of the
bride.

CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY
Ernie Makovy. son of Mr. and
Mrs. Charlie Makovy. celebrated
his 19th birthday Nov. 8 with a
Teen-Age Party at his home.
There were approximately 50
guests present to help Ernie
celebrate.
KJZT Meeting
Held Sunday
Miss Mary Frances Tobola
was elected the president of the
local KJZT Society No. 11, Sun-
day, Nov. 10th. Mrs. Marie Je-
rabek is the outgoing president
of the society.
Re-elected to their offices
were: 1st Vice Pres., Mrs. Bes-
sie Lichnovsky; 2nd Vice Pres.,
Mrs. Martha Svacina; Financial
Secretary, Miss Josephine Wal-
la; Recording Secretary, Mrs.
Anastasia Cihlar, and Treasur-
er, Mrs. Henrietta Meuer.
D;ring the business meeting
members were informed of the
loss by death of member Mrs.
Aluisie Makovy. Due to I he small
attendance of members they
will not assemble in a proces-
sion at funeral masses for mem-
bers.
Miss Millie Mcrenda will con-
tinue in charge of the KJZT
badges which members may still
wear at funeral masses or any
other special occasion of the so-
ciety.
Mrs. Sophie Maresh was re-
ported on the sick list.
The directions and location
of District 5 meeting to be held
in Dallas Nov. 17 will be pub-
lished in the church bulletin.
A Christmas program will
again be presented at the De-
cember meeting and children
will be given packages of good-
ies.
Names of 1G prospective
members were presented: Mms.
Christine Vanek, Sophie Fergu-
son, Mary E. Mashek, Lillie
Matula, C’aral Lehmann, Carol
Bajer, Ellen Soukup and Miss
Maxine Vanek, Miss Irene Ger-
ik, Miss Mary Jane Gerik, and
Junior members Laura Leh-
mann, Christine Bajer, Julie
C'ernosek, Deborah Kocian, Lisa
Soukup and Donna Soukup.
Members were reminded to
prepay three months’ payments.
This is helpful for the financial
secretary as well as the mem-
ber. Over-due payments are
difficult to bring up to date.
Mrs. Marie Jerabek was the
winner of the $3.00 door prize.
After adjournment of the
meeting members of the KJT
and KJZT Society, Seniors and
Juniors, joined in a ham sup-
per.

Elected Sunday
St. Joseph Society No, 31 of
West held their monthly meet-
ing Nov. 10 al St. Joseph's Hall.
The meeting was opened by a
prayer and the minutes from
the previous meeting were read
and approved. Mr. Henry Sykora
gave the full outcome from the
king and queen dance which
was a great success.
Mr. Cyril Svrcek made a re-
port on the membership drive
as It ends Dec. 31, 1968. He re-
minded the members of the
District 5 meeting Sunday. Nov.
17 at WBFA Hall in Dallas, and
he gave a brief talk concerning
a few details that make a good
society.
Mr. Joe Mazanec gave the
treasurer’s report, which was
outstanding.
Mr. Louis Dobecka won the
door prize.
Mr. Frank Jezek was the only
one on the sick list and three
new members were voted into
the society: Dale Jean Sykora,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Sy-
kora; Shawn Louis Rejcek, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rejcek,
and Eugene J. Bajer, Jr , son
of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bajer.
Two old members will receive
50-year pins at our next meet-
ing — Rev. F. D. Urbanovsky
and Mr. Jim Mashek.
Both societies — KJT No. 31
and KJZT No. 11 will have a
Christmas party after the
business meeting Dee. 8, 1968
A very large crowd attended
the meeting last Sunday. After
the meeting refreshments were
served to the members of both
societies.

VISIT IN WEST
M/Sgt. and Mrs. Robert D.
Lednicky visited recently in
West with his mother, Mrs Rosie
Lednicky. Mrs. Robert Lednicky
and Stephen returned to West
on Oct. 13 after a 10-month
stay in Fontainebleau, France,
where she visited with her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Desire
Guerin.
M'Sgt. Lednicky arrived in
West on Oct. 21 after complet-
ing a tour in Viet Nam They
left this week for their new as-
signment at Charleston AFB,
South Carolina.

The Good Citizenship Club
held their regular meeting at 3
p in. Friday. The secretary read
the minutes of the last meeting
and Pamela Pavelka read her
report.

carnations centered with an
orchid. She wore a diamond
wedding bell pendant, a gift
from the bridegroom.
Miss Debora Weissinger was
her sister’s maid of honor. Miss
Carolyn Weissinger, another
sister of the bride, Miss Ami Du-
lock, the bridegroom’s cousin,
and Miss Cynthia Mandcl, the
bride’s cousin, were bridesmaids.
Lynettc Otto, niece of the bride-
groom, was flower girl.
Attendants wore formal em-
pire dresses of yellow crepe with
chapel trains. Their headpieces
consisted of yellow lace with
small bows and they carried
bouquets of carnations.
David Straten was best man
and Mark Halamik, Larry Pod-
sednik, Kevin Jupe and Dale
Bettgc were groomsmen. Bobby
Moore and Vernon Straten were
ushers and Kirvin Jupe and
George Straten, Jr., were wit-
nesses.
Mrs. Stan Bodcker of Lan-
caster was soloist and Mrs. Jer-
ry Kucera was organist.
Mrs. Straten graduated from
La Vega Fligli School and is em-
ployed by Texas Farm Bureau.
Mr. Straten is a graduate of
West High School and works at

The couple's parents were
i host to a supper and dance at
Geneva Hall.
The newlyweds will live in
Elm Molt after a wedding trip.
