Kiwanis
News
By Milton Morgan
Thirty-seven Kiwanians
were present at the regular
noon luncheon and
program on Oct. 19. Two
Key-Clubbers present were
Cindy Harris and Troy
Gerik. Troy is President of
the West High Key Club.
Stan Purifoy was also
present.
President Tommy Muska
announced that the
upcoming Thirty-First
Anniversary and Ladies
night program is planned on
Nov. 10 at West High
School Cafetorium David
Pareya is Program
Chairman. President
Tommy also reported the
IRS audited our Kiwanis
Club this past week.. but
everything seemed to be in
order Al Payne passed out
a current member address
list and also a Kiwanis
financial statement
Chairman Russ Willsey
passed out ballots and
criteria for naming the
Kiwanian of the year award
This is something new for
our club and all Kiwanians
are urged to turn in ballots
by Oct. 26.
Many thanks go to Skip
Reaves, his wife Dee Ann.
Al Payne and Tommy
Muska for getting our first
edition of “Ki-Quotes" out
on Oct. 21. “We hope you
enjoy "Ki-Quotes" and if
any Kiwanian has any ideas
or suggestions to help us
make it better, please let us
know.”
There was one important
part of "Ki-Quotes" that I left
out and that was a message
from the Presidents Desk -
allow for it to be included
here;
“As your new President, I
would like to tell you I am
looking forward to a great
year for the West Kiwanis
Club. Expect some changes
along the way. We plan to
move from West High
School to the new
Community Center for our
noon luncheon and
program.—This will be
some time after the first of
the year. Thanks to all
Kiwanians for their help in
making the Pancake supper
a great success—I think we
had one of the largest
crowds in the history of the
Pancake supper!”
President Tommy Muska
On “Spinning the Wheel”
the first stop was on Harry
Harrington's name, the
mystery shaker. The second
spin stopped on the name of
Joe Kotch, so Joe was the
winner because he shook
hands with Harry.
