West Resident
Joins Air Force
Reserves
When he visited Carswell Air
Force Base shorty after retiring,
Master Sergeant Emil J. Hutyra
admitted he "missed it all.”
Sergeant Hutyra, who was
assigned to the 301st Tactical
Fighter Wing’s Communication
Flight, retired three years ago,
after 28 years service.
Now the name Hutyra once
again appears on the flight's
duty roster -- Airman Charles C.
Hutyra, Sergeant Hutyra's son.
Like his father. Airman
Hutyra is a resident of West,

Happy Birthday Alicia
Alicia Dawn Guinn celebrated
her birthday with a party at the
home of her parents Mr. and
Mrs. Ronny Guinn on Saturday
April 21, 1979. Approximately
fifteen friends and relatives
were present to help her
celebrate.
Refreshments of a "Winnie
the Pooh” cake and punch were
served. Alicia's grandparents
are Mr. and Mrs. Joe F. Dulock
of Rt. 2, West, and Mr. and
Mrs. M.P. Guinn of Rt. 5,
Waco. Her great-grandparents
are Mrs. Joe G. Dulock and Mr.
Henry Uptmor, both of Rt. 2,
West, Mr. and Mrs. Frank
McCartney of Rt. 5, Waco, and
Mrs. Alma Guinn of Houston.
Alicia was one on April 23.
but stated he plans to move to
Garland soon. There he will take * '’jO
up in civilian life what he does
as an Air Force reservist,
telephone switch and equipment
repair.
The 20-year-old airman gra-
duated from West High School
in 1977. After completing
technical school for his Air
Force speciality at Sheppard Air
Force Base at Wichita Falls last
December, he was assigned to
the 301st Communications
Flight.
Although he has followed his
father's example by entering
the communications field, it’s in
a slightly different career field,
since Sergeant Hutyra was an
aircraft radio operator.
Airman Hutyra credits his
father and one other individual
with his decision to join the Air
Force Reserve and the 301st in
particular, The other person is
Master Sergeant Kervin Jupe,
also with the communications
flight and a resident of West.
"They served together for
about 20 years," the younger
Hutyra noted.
Airman Hutyra enlisted for
six years, but said at this stage
it's too early to determine
whether he'll follow his father's
example bv making it a career.

Celebrate April Birthdays
Michael Kostecka, age 20,
and George Soukup. age 42,
celebrated their birthdays with a
party and dance on April 7 at
Cottonwood Hall.
Michael’s and George’s birth
days were on April 11.
The refreshments served
were chicken salad sandwiches,
chips, dips, kolaches, cookies,
strudles, birthday cake, punch,
and pivo were served to a
hundred and fifty guests. The
music came from a home stereo
unit with various country and
western, and rock and roll
music. Everyone had a wonder-
ful time.
Perfume isn't simply
dabbed at pulse-spots
anymore. Parfums Rochas —
creators of Mystere de Rochas
— suggest wearing the sophis-
ticated, slightly naughty new
fragrance as an invisible fash-
ion accessory, letting it
emphasize each aspect of
your total look.
For instance, the perfume
will add romantic contrast
to a streamlined linen jacket
when misted on a square of
silk tucked rakishly in the
pocket. To scent a little straw
hat delightfully, flirt a bit of
fragrance over the brim. At
night, whooshed on the hem
of your dancing dress and
bare, sandalled ankles, you’ll
leave clouds of romance in
your wake.
Leila Garrett of Ft. Worth. Her
grandparents present were
Robert and Ernestine McMahon
of Granbury and Gloria Garrett
of Cleburne.
Jennifer Dawn McMahon
Jennifer Dawn McMahon,
daughter of Clint and Judy
McMahon celebrated her third
birthday with a birthday party
Saturday, April 7.
Helping Jennifer celebrate

drick gave an interesting talk on
"Hot Checks" and the proce-
dure one should take in order to
prosecute.
She referred to the Hot Check
artist as the "Ball Point
Dandy".
In January and February, the
District attorneys office sent out
900 letters to those who issued
"bad checks," of these 900
letter, only 300 warrants were
issued by the DA's office. The
letter seems to be doing a good
job in that about 600 of those
who write "worthless" checks
make restitution.
