tending the bedside of her daugh-
ter, Miss Charlotte Baumetz, stud-
ent at S. T. S. T. C., Kingsville.
Mr. Baumetz went over Sunday to
spend the day with his wife and
daughter and Miss Bernadine Bau-
metz, also a student there.
L. C. Flinn * received a message
this morning that his uncle, Dr. J.
F. Flinn had died Wednesday at his
home in Hutto, age 55. The wife
and one daughter are left to mourn
his death. Luther left this Thurs-
day afternoon, for Hutto, to attend

Hewlett’s Attend Funeral
Of Mrs. Hewlett’s Father
W. H. Gilbert, aged 69, father of
Mrs. Sam Hewlett, died at the fam-
ily home in Caney, Oklahoma, on
Christmas day, December 25, 1928.
Mrg. Hewlett was notified of his
death and left immediately, for
Caney to attend her father’s funeral.
At Austin, she caught a train, and
Mr# Hewlett and Sam Jr.,* followed-
her by car, arriving later. They
spent nearly two weeks there and i
then made a short visit to Mr. Hew-!
lett’s mother, Mrs. Hewiett-Martin
of ♦Bonham before returning to Sin-
ton. They arrived home Friday of,
last week. Mrs. Hewlett’s many
Sinton friends extend sympathy in
her hour of bereavement.

week and in connection with E

a trip to Refugio Monday, and ap-
peared before the commissioners
court of Refugio county, making
talks explanatory of their home
demonstration work, preliminary to
Refugio county’s putting on a coun-
ty agent. Miss Campbell made in-
vestigations showing Miss Walker’s
work as county home demonstra-
tion agent to be most satisfactory
during the past year, and assisted
her in arranging a program for this
year. The district agent remained
for a meeting of county and district
home demonstration agents held in
Sinton Tuesday.

Faust makes the third cafe owned
by the Tsesmelis’. They will con-
tinue to be owners of the Faust cafe
here, they own the Virginia at Skid-
more, and the Anderson will make
the third in a chain, which doubt-
less will continue to grow, if Mr.
and Mrs. Tsesmelis continue in .the
cafe business. Jack. Lymberry of
Corpus Christi will operate the
Faust in Sinton.
Mrs. Tsesmelis will leave between
now and the first of February to
join Mr. Tsesmelis at Alice.
Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Martin have
bought the pretty Tsesmelis home
on George street, and will occupy
it as soon, as they are able to get
possession of it.
Notice is hereby given that the
Commissioners’ Court, of San rftt-
ricio .County, Texas, will on the 11th
day of February A. D. 1929, at ten
o’clock a. m., open and consider
sealed bids from any banking cor-
poration, association or individual
banker, desiring to bid on County
Funds for the privilege of becoming
the County Depository for the en-
suing term. Said proposal must
state the rate of interest offered,
computed on daily balances, for said
term. All bids must be in the hands
of the County Judge of said County
on or before the above mentioned
date, and be accompanied by a cer-
tified check for the sum of $1800.00
as a guarantee of good faith on the
part of the bidder, and that, if his
bid is accepted he will enter into
a bond as required by law. The
right to waive technicalities and
to reject any and all bids is re-
served by the Commissioners’ Court-
