Col. M. M. Pomeroy was met at
the depot at Sherman, Thursday, by
a deputation of gentlemen and
escorted to the Southern Hotel. Af-
ter receiving the congratulations of
friends he was tendered a ride over
the cilv. In the evening lie addressed
“■the largest and most enthusiastic
assemblage ever gathered in Sher-
man,” at the Methodist church.
“Brick” left for Dallas on the 6
o’clock train Friday evening.
From the St. Louis Globe we learn
that Jack Hamilton and parte, who
passed through this city last week
going easi, are now in St. Louis in
the interest of the Pacific &. Great
Eastern Railroad, which it is pro-
