A Birthday Reunion.
'‘Friendship above all ties doth hind the heart;
And faith in friendship is the noblest part.”
Mr. J. W. Burson, who does the artis-
tic printing lot the patrons ot the Deni-
son News, and occasionally slings ink
for the eddication or delectation ofoftr
local reader-, passed another mile-post
on his journey of life Wednesday, the
22d inst.
Wednesday night a goodly number of
male friend- called at Mr. Bursoii's room,
to congratulate him upon getting old 1
Fortunately, he is one of those genial
fellows who is always prepared for com-
pany. On the table was a box of Havan-
as; on the side-board a suspicious array
of little glasses with slim necks, ranged
side by side.
The “boys” were welcomed with a
hearty shake, and a “smile” all 'round.
Many were the congratulations given
and hearty good wishes exchanged that
night ’mid wreaths of smoke and the
merry music of chinking glasses. The
wine was California's choicest produc-
tion, and the flow of mirth and sjritiinent
unrestrained. In other words, every one
had a right good time; our triend Bur-
son was nearly toa-ted to death, and all
went home happy as larks.
