nection with Messrs. Bing & Meyers,
have finished bnreing a well for Mr. Tate,
and O’Maiiy, on the Southwest side of
the Park. The well was bored liv Messrs.
Bing X Myers, with their Elliptic well
auger lo a depth of 35 leet to the rock.

their well drill to work, and after boring
a depth of 31A feet, * total depth of 66
feet, struck a vein of splendid water,
which rose to a li’ght of 33 feet. Good-
live to the old time process ot blasting
through the rock for water, as this is by

requested that a duplicate be issued. As

The Mayor nominated Col. Rogers to
be City Attorney, providing that lie was
to receive no fees only in cases in which
actual services were ren lereu. The nom-
ination was unanimously continued by
the Council.
l)r. Acheson presented an ordinance
d« si '.mating names for street' and provi-
ding for the numbering of lots and hull d-
ings. It provides that all streets running
north from Main st'e.t, shall have
“north” prefixed to their namas; and ail
running south therefrom, shall have
-■south” prefixed thereto’: AM streets
running west from Lamar street, shall
have “west,” and all running ea-L shall
have “east” prefixed to their names. It
also provick • tlTe numbering of the
lots 0:1 die st , by beginning at La-
mar street for those running east and
west, and at Main street for tho- r run-
ning north and south, and requiring the
numbers on Main street to lie put up
