“Service Was Never Better,,
Some time ago, we mailed out post cards to all our
customers in Jacksboro. If you’ll remember, we asked you in
the post card what you didn’t like about your telephone service.
Maybe some of you were surprised that we would ask
a question like that. But we meant it. We weren’t asking for
compliments. We did it to find out what you really thought
about telephone service here.
When the cards came back with your answers, we were
happy to see that most of you said, “Service is very good, well
satisfied with it.” And it was good hearing it from you, be-
cause we’ll all admit that nobody knows more about your ser-
vice than you do.
We also got a few complaints - thanks for telling us
about them - and we tried to clear those up in a hurry so that
everyone in Jacksboro would be satisfied with their telephone
service.
Meanwhile, don’t hesitate if something’s bothering you
right now about your telephone service. Just call the telephone
company. We’d like to know about it - and we’ll try to do
something about it, too.
Stop Those Hurried Dashes
Ever notice how you run for a ringing telephone because
you’re often in another part of the house? Then, when you get
there, you’re probably a little out of breath as you answer.
The best way I know of to stop those dashes through the
house is a handy extension telephone.
Our records show that the most popular spots for an
extension with most people are the bedroom and kitchen. But
don’t forget the living room or the workshop - or anywhere,
really, that’s most convenient for you and your family.
To order an extension, just call the telephone company.
The cost of an extension in your home is only $1.00 a month,
plus a one-time installation charge of $1.75.
Long Distance Visit
I was thinking just the other day that you can’t drive
a car from Jacksboro to Waco for 60 cents. Yet you can visit
there - by Long Distance - for just 60 cents.
That’s the cost of a three-minute station-to-station call,
after 6 p.m. and all day Sunday. Long Distance rates to any-
where are much less than you might think. So plan to visit
regularly - by Long Distance. And when you call, remember
to call by number - it’s twice as fast.
Southwestern Bell Telephone Company
long distance is twice as fast when you call by NUMBCt
