Pumpkin Pound Cake served
every year at Devereux Gardens
With the Refugio
County Fair not far off,
I thought a good Pound
Cake recipe may be
needed. The recipe came
from Lan Smith from
Goliad. He serves it every
Christmas at Devereux
Gardens.
Devereux Gardens

2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3 eggs
2 cups fresh pumpkin or
1 can
1/2 tsp. baking soda

to sugar mixture.
Bake in greased and
floured tube or decorative
pound cake pan for 35
minutes at 350 degrees.
Then lower over to 275
decrees and bake for 30
minutes longer, or until
tooth pick comes out
clean.
Sift with Powdered sugar.
I sometimes add 1/2 cup
roasted pecans copped
fine.
