Health department
schedules first round
of flu shot clinics
The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS)
will offer many shot clinics for the seasonal flu vaccine
this year.
Flu shots are available by appointment only beginning
in the afternoon of Thursday, Oct. 17.
To be eligible, patients must be between the ages of six
months to 18 years; be on Medicaid, an American Indian
or Alaskan native, have no insurance or are underinsured
(health insurance coverage does not include vaccines) or
are adults (19 and older) who have no insurance.
There is a $5 suggested donation; however, no one will be
turned away due to inability to pay (if determined eligible).
The health department cannot administer the flu vaccine
to those who have insurance with vaccination coverage.
Adult Medicare/Medicaid patients are advised to see
their primary care provider for flu vaccinations.

The DSHS clinic is located at 1004 S. Bridge St., in Brady.
Gold Hard 'Rush Night Oet. 22
The Brady High School 2014 senior class will be holding their
Gold Card Rush night.
"We will be knocking on your doors from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday,
Oct. 22. If you would like to reserve a Gold Card in your name,
please let any senior know," said Jill Mays, spokesperson for the
group. "We have ordered more cards this year so we don’t leave
anyone out. We greatly appreciate your support of this fundraiser
for Project Graduation."
Tradition continues next
Saturday in Rochelle
The Rochelle Independent School District Annual Fall Festival
will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, from 5:30-8:30 p.m., beginning with
the annual "SpookPa-
rade," sponsored by
the Rochelle Parent/
Teacher Club (PTC)
at 5:30 p.m. in the
cafeteria.
Prizes for "best
costume" will be
awarded for all
school-age classes
and younger.
The Fall Festival promises lots of ghoulish fun and food and
includes a cake walk, haunted house, jail and more in the old gym-
nasium as well as Bingo in the cafeteria following the Spook Parade.
Class booths will be open from 6-8:30 p.m., and booths will require
.50 cent tickets that must be purchased at the door.
In addition, the Rochelle senior class will be selling raffle tickets
for a cruise that will be given away that evening.
The PTC will provide two meal options this year: a "Witch's
Brew" (chicken chili) supper as well "Mummy Wraps" complete
with chips and a drink for $5 each. Serving will begin at 6 p.m. at
the entrance to the old gym.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Lohn Halloween Carnival
planned this Saturday
The Lohn Hallow-
een Carnival will be
held Saturday, Oct.
19. The carnival will
begin with the Spook
Walk at 6 p.m. for
pre-school children
through six grade. ” # *
Prizes will be awarded
in several divisions.
The senior class supper will start in the cafeteria at 6:30
p.m. A barbecue plate catered by Mac's Bar-B-Q with all the
trimmings and ice tea will be served. A large plate will be $8.
Desserts will be sold by the senior class.
The gym doors will open at 7 p.m. Admission will be $.50,
and a door prize will be given away. The school will sponsor a
cake walk, and the senior class will sponsor the Bingo which
will begin around 7:30 p.m. in the Tabernacle.
