April 1
In an effort to help the
community make an in-
formed decision, the Re-
publican Liberty Caucus
of Congressional District
36 will be hosting a town
hall meeting for each can-
didate.
Dr. Brian Babin will
speak at Casa Don Boni in
Liberty at 7:30 p.m. This
meeting is open to the pub-
lic.

are planning a trip to Del-
ta Downs Casino. For $15

the annual Crime Stoppers

Country Club.

Baytown Crime Stoppers
Board served as master of
ceremonies for the event.
Lupe Garza, Goose
Creek CISD chief of po-
lice, presented an overview
of Goose Creek CISD bond
projects in progress or
completed that are related
to safety and security, such
as interior door locks, ves-
tibule entries and cameras.
Robert Francis, Board
member, showed a short
video.
Larry Aldrich, Baytown
police officer, expressed
his gratitude to the campus
Crime Stoppers sponsors.
He introduced the sponsors
and told about the activities
they supervise in support
of the Crime Stoppers pro-
gram.
“They are the backbone
of the program. They do
all the hard work,” said Al-
drich.
Among the many Crime
Stoppers projects this year,
the Board donated Crime
Stoppers signs to campus-
es along with supplying
Crime Stoppers notepads
to teachers at all schools.
Several students and spon-
sors attended the annual
conference in Fort Worth.
Students on campuses have
reported 52 tips to Crime
Stoppers this school year.
Sponsors in attendance at
the dinner were Mayra Bar-
ragan, Melanie Bates and
Amy Kaminski, Baytown
Junior School; Dani-
ta Blasdel, who is also a
Board member, and Cindy
Widner, Barbers Hill High
School; Roxie Brown, Ce-

Shonda Clark and Denise
Jones, Goose Creek Me-
morial High School; Clara
Hodge, Horace Mann
Junior School; Michelle
George, Gentry Junior
School and Randy Sprehe
and Sonya Turner-Englert,
Robert E. Lee High School.

certificate of appreciation
and a gift card for their
support of the Crime Stop-
pers program, presented by
Aldrich, Hanson and David
Afford, Baytown assistant
police chief.
