THE YOAKUM HERALD
SATURDAY, NOV. 7, 1*25
AN ORDINANCE
PREMONITION
An inquisitive Guinea
With her chattering longue
Had discovered the day
Which Thanksgiving was on.
She sang a shrill song
Of “Pot-rack ,not-rack
One will go on a journey
And never come back.”
The fowls were excited
Each one wished to flee,
But called a sad counsel
To see which it would be
"Not 1” said the hen,
Her kind heart a flutter,
“They sure wouldn’t rob
Young chicks of their mother.”
‘‘Not I,” said the cock,
As he crew a loud blast,
The clocks are uncertain
