Henry Morgenthau Jr., Secretary of the Treasury, today made public the official War Bond Quotas by States for
the month of July, which places the nation on a Billion-dollar-a-month basis to aid in meeting the War cost. The above
table also gives May War Bond sales in the various states in comparison to the May Quotas. (June sales by states will be
available for publication shortly.) The percentage of Quotas range from 71.3 percent above quota in Utah, to 22.6 percent
below the quota in Montana, but puts the nation as a whole above, the $600,006;000 total May quota. Vulnerable Alaska
and Hawaii led all states in sale of Bonds on quota basis. •’**• „ .
