Dies In Little Rock

F. A. Pietzsch cf the north
west part of Brisco County pas-
sedi away at a sanitarium in Lit-
tle Rock Arkansas May 19 af-
ter an operation for intestinal
trouble from which he had been
suffering for about six months.
Mr. Pietzsch was an old timer
in Brisco County having moved
there in 1891. His death -will be
mourned by all Brisco County
folks who knew him. Funeral
services were held Thursday at
Wayside Texas and burial (was
in that cemetery.
Mr. Pietzsch was born in
Bartltett in 1876 and di'ed at
LiMe-Rock Arkansas May 19 J
Lirab'at the age of GO years. At
the age of fifteen ho moyed to
Brisco County with his parents
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Pietzsch; and
locjUfcd in the northwest part of
the' county where he has made
his home for 45 years.
He was united in marriage in
1902 to Miss Leo Knight of
Swither County and to this un-
ion were Iborn four chidlren

Erosion Control Program Prevents Damage
To Soil From Recent Torrential Rains
Torrential rains which have
fallen in the Bartlett community
in Bell and Williamson counties
during the past week have done
practically no damage. to the dif-;
ferent plia'ses 'of'WcomWe

placed on the farms of coopera-
tes. .
Fields .which are protected
from erosion by the use of strip
crops contour cultivation ter-
races contour ridges along with
other phases of the program are
withstanding the heavy down-
pours to a remarkable degree.
Compared to the fields pro-
perly protected from rain wash
by the coordinated erosion con-
trol program of the Service are
nearby fields from which the
heavy rains are sweeping a de-
vasting toll of tQp soil. In addi-

For Mrs. Floyd Neely
MRS. J. E. CONDRA'S SISTER
DIES TUESDAY
Funeral services were held in
Jarrell Thursday afternoon at
the Jarrell Baptist Church for
Mrs Floyd Neely who died at
her home Tuesday night after
'being ill for only a few hours.
Rev. Gresley conducted the ser-
vices and interment was in the
Corn Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Neely was born Novem-
ber 3 1875 in Alabama. She
came to Texas at the age of
four and settled with her par-
ents at Corn Hill in which com-
munity she lived all of her life.
When she was thirteen years of
age she joined the Baptist
Church. On April 2 1893 she
was married to Mr. Floyd Neely
and to this union four chidlren
were born one daughter Irene
died in 1918.
Mrs. Neely is survived by her
ihusband mother -Mrs. W. H.
Buchanan three daughters Mrs.
Ola Evans Mrs. Inez Wilckek
and Mrs. Emly Bell Smith two
grandchidlren Miss Alecia Fay
Evans and Miss Dorothy Ann
Evans one brother Allen Bu-
chanan and one sister Mrs. J.
E. Condra.
"Throughout the years she
has been a devoted christian
character with her faith strong-
ly fixed in her redeemer and
serving him as only she could.
All of her life she was kind help-
ful and thoughtful . to-others.
He? great joy was quietly help-
ing some one else carry their
burden. Everyone loved her and
her great host of friends mourn
her going and know that her
place cannot be filled but at the
same time they rejoice in the
fact that she has gone to be with
Jesus" her pastor stated.

Jarrell June 2 A petition is
being circulated among resi-
dents here to have the mail
brought from Georgetown rath-
er than Bartlett.
Those instigating the petition
say that the all-weather road
from Georgetown will insure
mail each day.

SEX WEEKS TRAINING
Jimmy Power left Monday for
Fort Crockett Bracketville Tex-
as where he will spend six
weeks in training. Dick Connel-

the week-end as a guest in the

camp. They were accompanied

BELL RURAL POWER
FUND IS APPROVED
Washington June 1 A sup-
plementary allotment of $3000
to the Bartlett Community
Light and Power company was
approved today it was an-
nounced by Rural Electrification
Administrator Morris L. Cooke.
This amount together with ap-
proximately $3000 left from the
first loan of $33000 will be used
in constructing eight .miles of
line to bring service to approx-
imately 20 additional customers

Boxing Exhibitions
To Be Given At CCC
Camp Friday Night
The Louis B. Wells Post of
the American Legion will spon-
sor a boxing and wrestling ex-
hibition in the open air arena at
the C. C. C. Camn Fridav nicrht.
June 5.
The exhibition Friday night
will be the first of a series of
exhibitions to be held every Fri-
day night through the summer
and fall months.
"The eighteen Texas C. C. C.
Camps will provide plenty of
fast boxers and wrestlers for
this district and lots of clean
sport is assured the people of
