The following article was
taken from the Tawnkonl
News ond was written by
Marilyn F. Hallman,
"There wns no written stip-
ulation In the cover letter that
these Items would be hand-
led," Vance Busby, commis-
sioner of zoning ond planning,
told the East Towakonl City
Council last week.
Busby referred to the ap-
parent varlence by the Blue
Waters' developer regarding
City Ordinance 167. Also,
developer J.E. Horn's lack of
plans to Install water and
sewer mains or to provide the
city assurance regarding per-
formance bonds did not meet
with the commission's ap-
proval.
Moreover, the waterfront lots
smaller than 10,000 square
feet will prevent potential
buyers from Installing septic
systems In compliance with
city regulations.
In a meeting with tl* plan,
nlng and zoning commission
Dec. 30, commission members
voted unanimously "to turn
down the proposal of Mr.
James Edward Horn for the
development of Blue Waters
as presented," the commis-
sioner reported In a letter to
city officers.
In response to tire commis-
sion's recommendation to de-
cline any further consid-
eration of Horn's proposal,
Councllwoman Bonita Was ham
made a motion to accept the
commission's recommendation
to refuse Horn's plan. The mo-
tion carried unanimously,

coming election In the spring.
Washam, CJ-. Woodall and
Blair are all seeking re-elec-
tion to the council In their re-
spective offices, said the
mayor.
Following his report, Blair
pointed out that the council
must appoint an election judge
and clerk. He said lie will an-
nounce the names at the Feb-
ruary meeting.
The council set a fee for the
election judge and clerk at
$50 and $k0 respectively.

blem, Councilman E.M. Polan
said, I'd like to make an of-

more than look at your elec-
trical consumption They also
give you a free safety check
They look for frayed wires, tree
limbs making contact with
power lines or any other
potential problems that could
Interfere with the safe delivery
of electricify to your home.
Our meter readers also
make sure that you're not get-
ting charged for power you
didn't use.
They pride themselves on ac-
curate readings and take the
time to investigate readings
that are unusually high or low
On the rare occasions when
these employees cannot read
your meter because of a lock-
ed gate or threatening dog
