DEER HUNTERS REPORT
GAME PLENTIFUL
Nearly every deer hunter who
left Bartlett when the season
opened last week has returned
with a buck but The Tribune
has been unable to find a hunt-
er that will admit getting his
limit of two for the season.
Seven deer were skinned and
butchered by Chas. MalacheR
who is a veteran at the job and
an old hunter himself and all
local ice vaults are filled with
fine bucks.
Christmas Ball
Not One Of C. of C.
Christmas Activities
Because the "Queen's " Ball
which is to be held at the S. P.
J. S. T. hall in Taylor on the
night of December 16 comes on
the closing date of Bartlett s
pre-Christmas activities it has
been tied in with those activit-
ies in the minds of all Bartlett
people. The fact that contest-
ants in the Bartlett "Goddess of
Yuletide" race are also selling
tickets for this dance has added
to tliis opinion.
To correct this situation mem-
bers of the Chamber of Com-
merce directing Bartlett's
Christmas activities issued a
statement today declaring that
this event is not a part of their
program. The ball according to
this statement is being sponsor
ed solely by contestants m the
"Goddess of Yuletide" race.
It's purpose is to give further
recognition to. the queen and her
"Court of Peace" and to all com
peting contestants.
After the ball any proceeds
that may have accrued will be
donated by the contestants to
the band fund it was stated by
Loraine Schubert temporary
chairman of the ball reception
committee..
The contestants handling ad-
vance ticket sales to the ball
have agreed it' is understood!
that each time a ticket is sold
it will add. 80 votes to their score
in the race for the title of "God-
dess of Yuletide" in Bartlett and
the prizes go with it. Joe Buzze
will furnish the music for the
dance.
