“For by grace are ye saved
through faith; and that not of your-
selves; it is the gift of God; not of
works, lest any man should boast.”
Ephesians 2:8-9
We celebrated Mother’s Day at
church along with our youngest
mother, Leslie Brown; our oldest
mother, Geneva Smith; and our
mother with the most children pre-
sent. Terri Grabb.
Allen Miller and Phillip Miller
sang a beautiful duet. Bro. Turner
preached to us. One man surren-
dered for the ministry. It is wonder-
ful to see God at work. Since we
moved to the highway, there have
been decisions every Sunday.
We went to Gilmer on Sunday
afternoon to be with my family.
Bro. David Rodgers preached in the
absence of Bro. Turner.
Some of the ladies of our church
met on Thursday night to plan
activities for our church. We had a
salad supper
Bro. Turner shredded and made
the church lawn look real scenic.
Our phone number is 447-2017.
Call us if you need a ride to church
Ida Jopltng was in the Dallas area
to go to the doctor, visit with her
relatives, and help one of them cel-
ebrate their birthday during the
weekend.
Nancy Simmons was the guest of
her son and their, family for
Mother’s Day Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Hewitt has her lawn looking
so nice and she had her family for
Mother’s Day. She and Geneva
Smith came to both services on
Sunday.
Kim Rodgers taught the nursery
children in the absence of Christy
Hartog.
We are looking forward to our
first all day prayer meeting on
Friday. The church will be open for
anyone who wants to come and
pray. Also, our first visitation day
will be Saturday from 2:00 until
4:00. We hope to see some of you
on that day
Louise Northcutt and Leslie
Brown cleaned the church on
Saturday. A job well done!
“For with the heart man believeth
unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto sal-
vation. For the scripture saith.
Whosoever believeth on Him shall
not be ashamed." Romans 10:10-11

ing message over prioritizing our

On this Mother’s Day, the oldest
and youngest mother in attendance
was presented with a lovely cor-
sage. Lou Bevill did the honors.
Our youngest mother was Nicole
Davis, and the oldest mother was
Larry McAfee’s mother, Nell
McAfee.
We were treated to two specials.
Nicole Davis and Gary Graham
each did a wonderful job, and we
enjoyed them very much. We were
thankful to have Bro. Arlis back
with us. His sermon was entitled “A
Model Mother,” taken from Luke
1:26-35. It was based on the life of
Mary, mother of Jesus, and really
blessed our hearts. Our closing
prayer was by Bro. Gary Graham.
Our evening service opened with
a prayer by Bro. Billy Burnett.
Mike Stuckey was our song leader,
and he also sang a special that he
dedicated to Joy Banks. It was one
of Joy’s favorites.
Bro. Arlis’s sermon was entitled,
“When Christ Reigns on the Earth.”
It was enjoyed by one and all. Our
closing prayer was by Bro. Ed
Taylor.
Our thought for the week is:
“Praise God for Mother’s gentle
hand and love we cannot under-
stand. Praise Him who sent us from
above the blessings of a Mother’s
love."
We have so much going on at
White Oak that we stay busy all
week. Come join us and you will
never be without something to do.
God bless you and I hope to see you
in church.
If your Leader has 5-00 on it,
it’s time to renew!

She is to see a specialist soon.

feels better soon.

the Ronald Blanton family.

The beautiful floral arrangement

Sunday was Mother’s Day. Lots
of mothers were happy but quite a
few were sad and lonely because
their children can’t or don’t come to
visit them. I have no children, and
my mother has been gone for many
years, but I have lots of people who
love me very much, and I thank
God for them.
We had a good Sunday school
lesson. Both Bro. Parker and Pat
Underwood sang specials. Bro.
Parker’s message was from Genesis
24 entitled “I Will Go.” It was about
when Rebecca went to marry Isaac.
We had a good attendance and Bro.
Parker gave all the mothers there a
gift. Mary Smith’s granddaughter
Misty and her cute little daughter
Amber were there with her. It was
also good to see Bud and Joyce
Northcutt, Daphine Hilton, Debra
Allen, Lana, Montie and Brandi
Parker, and Robbie and Helen
Clifton there. We don’t really count
them as visitors, just a part of us.
Also it was good to have Keith
Fleming feeling well enough to be
in church. He hasn’t been feeling
well lately.
Last Wednesday night Bro.
Parker sang a special, and his mes-
sage was from Psalm 103:1-5 enti-
tled “A Full Measure of Goodness.”
There have been many prayer
requests this week. Among them are
Idus Lair, Linda Herriage, Homer
O’Neal, Irma Long, Bro. Hubbard,
and some I may have forgotten.
Last Saturday evening Viola
Gordon and Linda Armstrong went
with Ray and Ruth Middleton to
McKinney to a grandson’s wed-
ding. Linda’s son, John Gowin, is
visiting them for a few days. The
Jason Dales went to Garland
Sunday to visit his parents, the C.E.
Dales, and her parents, Lynn and
Delphine Patten. This was Lynn’s
birthday. They celebrated it too.
It was sad to learn of the death of
Robert Hilton. He passed away
Sunday.
In Sunday night’s service Sis.
Parker sang a special, and Bro.
Parker’s message was from II Kings
13:20-21 entitled “Revived.”
The WMs will have a meeting
next Sunday afternoon. Take care,
pray often for one another and live
close to God.
May God bless us all.
